  • Only for the discerning traveler, 'Wildcat Haven' is the newest in luxury vacation accommodations on Chincoteague Island. The reverse floor plan is over 2,800 square feet and offers views of the bay and marshlands where wildlife abounds from nearly every room. The first floor features 4 bedrooms, all en-suite with full bathrooms and a large recreational room with second kitchen and waterside deck. The second floor features the main living areas - living room, dining room, kitchen, powder room - as well as another waterside deck and screened porch. If you love to fish and crab, or just sit at the water's edge, you'll LOVE the 500' private pier! Vacationing with a large group? Check out the sister house 'Wildcat Retreat' right next door!

Wildcat haven is the place to come, relax and enjoy Chincoteague. The location is wonderful - private. It is on the Chincoteague bay with a private dock and fabulous sunsets that never disappoint.The house is relatively new, clean, comfortable and very well-appointed. They have thought of everything and provide it for you. The house design is wonderful - each bedroom has a full bathroom en-suite. There is a 2 story screened deck on the back and several decks on the front. Plenty of great deck furniture. The main kitchen is huge as is the great room. There are numerous places to get away from the group and sit on your own if you wish - as well as a huge sofa to be together.

Great place on the Water

This was a nearly near property and we were very impressed with the location and construction of the home. It featured a small ground floor with 2 carports, a large 2nd floor with plenty of sleeping space and outside access, and a wonderful, large 3rd floor with lots of space to eat and entertain. The whole house was built with a long life and low maintenance in mind. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Loved staying at the wildcat Haven. Beautiful, spacious, well stocked home. Perfect for a large family gathering. Also loved the ice maker!! So nice to have extra ice for EVERYTHING. You even get Sun rises and Sunsets!! WOW! Beautiful new home. Can't go wrong.

This home ranks right up at the top of the three homes we’ve rented here so far this year. The standalone ice maker in the kitchen, all of the common areas and bedrooms outfitted with the Samsung Smart TVs, the Spectrum WiFi and TV app service that has worked very reliably all week (even through the storm!), and the fully stocked kitchen made things very easy for us even when the weather didn’t want to cooperate.

Great Property, Poor ManagementWe very much enjoyed the property and would consider returning next year. However, when issues arose that were beyond the property managers’ control, their response was inadequate and untimely. At one point during our conversation, the employee said, “I understand that the level of service and responsiveness did not meet the standard of quality expected of us.” Unfortunately, that accurately reflects our experience, and the issue affected a significant portion of our stay.We were told upon arrival on Saturday that the washer was not working, but that it should be repaired by Monday. We were traveling with multiple families and small children, and we had expected laundry facilities to be available. When the repair did not happen on Monday because of a parts delay, the communication from management became a series of canned updates saying they were reaching out to their operations team, but no real solution was provided.Early Wednesday morning, we asked whether we could use the laundry facilities in the sister property next door, since it was unoccupied. It was not until late Thursday afternoon that we were finally given permission to do so. It is hard to understand why that option was not offered at the beginning of the week.When we expressed our dissatisfaction and asked for some form of compensation, we were told, “We responded promptly, offered workable alternatives and followed all required procedures to minimize the disruption.” Base

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall we enjoyed our stay at Wildcat Haven very much. First of all, the house was ant free! I imagine that in the years to come those insects will find their way inside, but not this year. The furniture was very nice and comfortable. The ice maker was out of this world. The house had a lovely screened in deck, but it didn’t have a mosquito barrier under the decking. My biggest disappointment was the layout of the kitchen. It was clear that whoever designed the kitchen doesn’t cook. The sink is too far from the prep space and refrigerator. The trash cans aren’t located in convenient places either.

It was an absolutely beautiful house. My only suggestion would be to screen under the decking in screen room. The bugs were awful! I have a screen room at home and it work great!
