“It's a slice of heaven. Immediately adjacent to Philmont Scout Ranch. Setting is perfect, isolated, peaceful. The innkeeper are exceptional. The Casa is like a villa with rooms arra get around a gracious patio. I hated to leave.”

Some improvements could be made but I realize they are probably still working on some areas as far as remodeling and decorating. The staff was very nice and did their best to accommodate our needs. “This lodge is so cute and quaint! I fell in love the minute I walked into the lobby! We had a balcony with a stream running and left the door open to lull us to sleep! The hostess was amazing! We were running late so she communicated with me via text and left instructions for a late check in. They even extended our check out time 2 hours! Beautiful views of the mountains and easy parking and walking to everything. Can't wait to come back!!!”

“Everything was fine in general except for the Plumbing. The cold water came out of the pipes scalding hot. We would have to run the cold water faucet for about 10 minutes at the sink or bathtub before the water would run cold. When we sat on the toilet, we would get a hot water steam bath when the toilet was flushed. The property definitely has plumbing problems.”

“Right next to lift 1 at the base, where there are chairs to sit and enjoy the view. Comfortable room with full kitchen. Just what I was looking for, a quiet, cool place to escape the heat and do some hiking. If you’ve never done it, Williams Lake is my favorite hike in New Mexico. Prior to July 4 (and maybe after) the restaurants at the ski area are only open Th-Sun. So if you don’t bring food, you have to drive back to Taos.”

“We stayed in the ski resort's off-season (July). For two nights, we paid $425 (or $213 a night for a king-sized bed)—the rate for a luxury hotel. The Lodge has easy access to the limited amenities of the small town of Angel Fire, staff is friendly, and the property is decently maintained. However, The Lodge advertises several on-site restaurants, cafes, and bars ... and a few were closed entirely, and none was open past 4pm. The Front Desk also advised us that housekeepers visited daily, but...

“Our room was very clean and looked to be recently updated. We were able to park directly in front of our door which was very convenient, especially since we were there on the 4th of July weekend. Staff was friendly and welcoming upon our arrival. Great location - we literally could walk to everything we needed during our stay...we would stay again!”
