*This review is about the 1-bedroom unit we got moved to last minute in the same building*Property was close to everything in the city, but host moved us to 1-bedroom unit last minute the day before arrival due to HVAC issue in the 2-bedroom unit. We understood and agreed. We got to the one unit bedroom and we saw brown spots all over the wall and baseboards, the bathroom sink was unusable because of how small and close to the wall it was (we has to use the kitchen sink), the shower had no hot water until we asked the host to come fix the water pressure and have hot water on our second night (even then the hot water was warm). The TV is old and lagged every time you pressed the button on the remote.Since we got moved from our original booking the host only offered a 20 refund for the whole stay.

First impression was a little iffy based off the block. It’s obviously going through a gentrification process, which can go both ways. It’s only a block or two from what feels more like a safer side of OTR. After a few trips in and out we felt much better and loved how close we were to things walking distance. Always highly recommend The Eagle but Vintage was a very enjoyable brunch spot with tvs and open windows. The bed was good, tv was slow, gotta be real patient with that remote. We appreciated the sound machine. I wouldn’t say it’s well furnished. We found ourselves moving some tables and mirrors around to try to get ready for the day and find outlets. I will say it has potential. Throw some rugs, art, and furniture around and it could feel more homey. Keep in mind you have to walk up multiple flights of stairs. They are narrow and steep but not a big deal for us, personally. We parked right next door in the lot and paid the 25. Last note; I wouldn’t come here planning to cook a big meal. There is limited counter space. It worked fine for heating up some pizza or cutting some fruit lol. The stove looks nice but can’t imagine using it without any counters. All in all, we would stay here again based on location and price. Thanks for having us.

Woof. The place has an instant cat fish feel. The front of the building is not the cute alley pictured but an abandoned and closed off space. The place was a mess- no hand soap or dish soap. All of the dishes were filthy and no soap to clean it. Also no silverware so don't plan on eating in the space. But 4 butcher knives. The bedsheets were stained and the towels smelled of mildew/urine. The floor was dusty almost immediately but it may have been coming from the floorboards not sitting properly with how wavy the floor was. Also mystery smudges around the room that we chose to move around. Each room has a wall A/C unit with a box attached to drain the water and it made a horribly loud noise very often but never all at once. It was super disorienting and not great for naps or sleeping at night. Speaking of not sleeping well- The listing does mention that there is downtown noise. We've lived in downtowns before but it was SO LOUD. The area is changing so maybe in a few years it will be better. One of the nights there was a huge shouting match / brawl out front and the police were trying to calm the situation using their megaphones. This went on from 1-4am. Not great. There is no parking, which I knew going in, but there were no helpful hints as to where to park and we were left scrambling most of the time to try to find a good space to park. Reached out to the owner after asking how our experience was, I was honest and asked for a partial refund and he never responded.
