Big disappointment, especially that I didn't get my late check-out as a gold member before the booking was indicated 2 hours late check-out. Hard bed and a very small room outdated toilet.

I'm sorry that you were disappointed. We do not offer a late check out as we do not participate in the 'VIP access hotel' scheme. Occasionally we are able to offer a later check out but it was not possible on this occasion as I explained to you when we sat down for a chat. May I suggest in future that if you want a guaranteed late check out you stay at a larger hotel, not a small independent country inn.

Great accommodation at the very reasonable (cheap) price considering the quality. The only disappointment and slight inconvenience was lack of a proper shower, only a bath with a hand attachment. Pub food and staff were all excellent.

Fantastic stay over Easter at The Thames Head Inn. Great staff, great food, lovely quiet comfortable room; we really couldn’t have asked for anything more. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to walk the start of the Thames Path.

My friends and I had a lovely stay. Rooms were comfortable, had everything you would needed. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were great. Very easy to access walking paths, just a shame we picked the rainy season, lots of muddy/boggy fields and paths. Accessible by train to Kemble station. Very friendly staff.

Great bar service I was called to see if I wanted food, while on route, pre ordered food and it was very good. Overall a decent stay for the money, clean tidy and cosy. Only downside was no hot water in the morning, so no shower, boiler tripped, it happens I guess

Everything was perfect the room was Oldy worldly the beds were so comfortable the food and drinks was excellent and the staff were great cannot fault the Thames Head even the drive to the venue was good 👍

Unfortunately there was no shower curtain in the bathroom, consequently water went everywhere. I am of the age where getting in and out of a bath is extremely difficult. Whilst there were plenty of amenities in the bathroom, it lacked a small box of tissues.

As a base to start walking the Thames Path the Thameshead Inn is, unsurprisingly, the perfect base. Good pub food and cosy rooms are ideal for a night’s stopover. Very good breakfast too.

Out Buildings Retreat.
I brought my wife away for her Birthday 🎂. We were greeted with smiles and very welcoming couple. We were shown to our room. Which were converted out buildings. WOW.. A warm self contained unit. Small but very cosy. We stayed for 3 nights. We ate at the pub. For snacks and meals. The food is excellent. Fairly priced. We had our Cockapoo (Pixie) Who was made very welcome. A good 🐕 friendly pub/hotel. There are loads of walks nearby. Just abide by the on and off lead parts. Cirencester Park is a must. Take walking boots. Back to the Thames Inn. So.. to sum up. People often say. The food was good. Or the staff were good. In my opinion. The Thames have got ut just RIGHT... Polite staff. Good food. Great ales. Nothing is to much bother. Well done.. Thanks for looking after me and my wife. Oh and the 🐕. We will most definitely be back. A polite message. Look after the rooms with muddy paws... Be a responsible dog owner... You would keep your own house clean. 5*****

Great stay
Super pub to stay in. The rooms were lovely and tucked away from the pub noise and the busy road. Just perfect. We had a great meal too and the service just fab. Nicola and Ben are great Landlords and their staff too. We were house hunting so only stayed overnight.

A little expensive being a little in the sticks. Foof in restaurant was veaied and good, but a little like the wine, expensive. No shaving point in bathroom. Beds very comfortable, though twin bedded room on the small side.

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 dogs. Great place to stay, food, staff, area all excellent. Brilliant for dog walking as there's miles of fields right behind the property. Just a short trip each way to Tetbury and Cirencester. Highly recommended, we will be back.

The hotel had good parking facilities. My room was clean and tidy and quiet at night. I had a meal in the hotel with my family and the food was excellent. there was no shower. One of these handset attachments on the taps. I am 81 so could not stand in the bath holding the shower head in one hand while showering. If i visit again i will ask for a room with a walk in shower. The towel i used was not changed and the used tea cup was not replaced. Nor was the water.

Cozy rooms, exceptional staff, great location
Great little pub and great little rooms. Cozy but spacious, perfect for a weekend. Every single member of staff we interacted with was incredibly hospitable and pleasant. Fantastic breakfasts. Excellent location on the main road and minutes from kemble station. Good wifi. The only thing we would mention is the shower is just a hose attached to the bath - it would be great if there were a wall bracket and shower screen, and you can tell from the floor condition other people accidentally turn the bathroom into a wet room in the way we did on the first day (you get the hang of it after a couple of attempts). But overall we would highly highly recommend - it's a gem.
