Williebear Cabin Screamer Mountain

BelĂ€get i de vackra Blue Ridge Mountains med utsikt över den pittoreska lilla staden Clayton, Ga. NĂ€ra till mĂ„nga aktiviteter eller bara för att varva ner. ForsrĂ€nning vid Whitewater River, fiske med fantastiska restauranger och en fantastisk utsikt över Black Rock Mountain och de omgivande bergen. Vi ligger 7 mil söder om North Carolina och 5 miles vĂ€ster om South Carolina. Om du letar efter Gatlinburg kanske du vill fortsĂ€tta leta men om du vill besöka Gatlinburg Ă€r vi en och en halv timme rakt söderut. Det mesta av vattnet i Georgien kommer frĂ„n vĂ„ra berg och vi Ă€r vĂ€lsignade med mĂ„nga sjöar och floder, Chattooga Ă€r kronjuvelen i de södra vattendragarna. Lake Burton, Seed, Rabun, Tallulah och Tugelo, Yonah Ă€r alla mycket nĂ€ra. Massor av aktiviteter i omrĂ„det eller bara sitta pĂ„ verandan och titta pĂ„ en vacker utsikt. Notera för nykomlingar i omrĂ„det finns det böcker i tidningsform som kallas "The Wayward Traveller" pĂ„ plats med mĂ„nga saker att göra stĂ€llen att Ă€ta etc. Mycket informativt och för din anvĂ€ndning. I have never written a truly negative review for any VRBO stay! I hate to do this but our trip was marred by significant lack of cleanliness and insect issues. There were so many large spider webs inside the cabin (think Halloween spider web decorating), the loft bed was covered with a white powder that seemed to be coming from ant or termites, there were tons of dead flies/insects under the bed and also a bed bug catcher. We had to clean before we were comfortable to stay and ended up not using the loft bedroom. There was a lot of dust and trash under the other beds in other bedrooms and about an half an inch of dust and cheeto balls under the couch in the den area. The beautiful deck with a gorgeous view was so covered in spiders and webs that it was uncomfortable sittig there. And in general the place which is quite cozy but needs some serious TLC. I called to complain and the owner had someone to clean the next day. He also offered to refund the cleaning fee, he was very apologetic but it didn't quite resolve the embarassment I felt in having my family have to clean their own rooms before they could stay in the cabin I had invited them to for vacation. If it wasn't 4th of July week, I would have tried to move somewhere else. We made the most of the accomodations and truly enjoyed several waterfalls and swimming holes and hiking while we were there. I would highly recomend Dick's falls. It was amazing!!

A quiet cabin in the mountains

This is my second time staying at Williebear Cabin and I hope it won’t be my last! Bill is so responsive if you have any questions. I spent many mornings and evenings sitting on the porch admiring the incredible mountain view. Thank you for sharing this place of calm and beauty!

Mountainside Retreat for Nature Outings

The cabin is an excellent place to unwind and relax. We stayed here while hiking, rafting, and doing other activities.

Perfect location and amazing communication

My husband and I had a terrific stay at the cabin, which is in the most ideal location to town. It is secluded to give you the “getaway” feel while being 5 minutes away from town for anything we needed. The property manager sent us the most helpful details to easily find the cabin, was always accessible to contact if we needed anything, and provided a bunch of pamphlets to find fun places to eat and visit. Would 100% stay again. Thank you!

Lovely home a short drive up the Mountain

This charming cabin home was thoughtfully stocked with so many conveniences, from toiletries to hot cocoa pods for the Keurig. We were there Thanksgiving week and appreciated that the place was decorated for Christmas. It was an easy, short drive down the mountain to get to a Walmart for our groceries and the town of Clayton for shopping and restaurants. Bill was easy to reach via message and always responded promptly. We also appreciated that the check/out instructions were so easy-we basically just had to pack and walk out the door. I would highly recommend Willie Bear Cabin to anyone wanting a spacious home-base for everything the area has to offer.

Celebrating brother’s birthday with family and friends. The location was perfect and the house was fully stocked with everything anyone would need. Very comfortable and gorgeous view!

The cabin was great- had everything you could need and very comfy. Close to a lot of attractions. The driveway is a little tricky but the gorgeous view is worth it. My only issue was that there was confusion about getting into the cabin and I tried calling the owner several times but got no response. He apologized but that was very frustrating.

An awesome cabin!

We stayed here with 4 children and 3 adults ( family). The cabin is spacious, clean, well-stocked with essentials, and the views are awesome. We would definitely recommend!

Cozy and inviting.. home away from home.

The cabin is cozy and inviting. The mountain views are magnificent . Close to town, whitewater rafting and Tallulah Falls. We had a wonderful time. We can’t wait for our next trip back. The kids loved the views and catching fireflies. Wonderful Memories made. Thank you Bill and Karen for opening your cabin “Willie Bear” for others to share. As we ride home the kids are still talking about all the bears, views and walking around adventuring. They give you all thumbs up.

Mountain Escape

The rental was very charming. Mountain themed nick-knacks are everywhere. We saw something different each day. View was excellent too. We did a lot of hiking and spent a lot of time on the balcony recovering from the hiking while enjoying the view. We won't hesitate to return for our next mountain escape. PS, If you use Google Maps, it may send you the wrong way on Screamer drive. Turn left on Screamer and the driveway is 50 yards away. Googe Maps says go right.

Williebear weekend

We were in the area to do music for a wedding. This cabin is very nice. I personally think it is a little over decorated and cluttered. A few things didn't work properly. But that didn't effect our stay. Still a nice place, spacious, just needs a little TLC. It is for sale so this may be the reason things appeared to need some attention. Drive way is a little difficult to navigate.

Enjoyed Williebear Cabin

Exactly as you see online. Bill was good with communication up to and during the stay. The driveway took some getting used to as I have full size pickup. But as stated it is freshly paved and solid. Great location to head out to see things in the surrounding areas.

Great Christmas adventure

The view from cabin was amazing the cabin was decorated for us for Christmas it was fully stocked with everything we needed it wasn’t long enough but we made great memories a lot of things to do around us so many beautiful waterfalls and Bill was a extremely amazing host
