Kitchen House at the Inn At Firmstone Manor

Not suitable for children under 10. A newly renovated cottage with all the modern conveniences is located beside the historic Firmstone Manor which was built in 1873. The house was the original kitchen house for the 1873 Firmstone Manor house, it has central A/C, heat, and high-speed Internet, and is one level, has two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed, another with a queen-size bed, a bathroom with a tiled walk-in shower, a full kitchen with refrigerator, range, and dishwasher. The cottage also features a spacious family room with a dining table. Use your Roku guest account for the 4-k streaming TVs in each of the bedrooms and family room. Kickback, relax and enjoy our 16-acre property. The area around us is ideal for wineries, breweries, hiking, biking, and fishing. Firmstone Manor, a Victorian home built in 1873 by Harry Firmstone, also sits on the property and is one of the largest surviving homes in Alleghany County. We are in the process of restoring Firmstone Manor and the rest of the cottages on the property.

Everything about The Kitchen At Firmstone Manor was impeccable. It was such a lovely and cozy cottage. Made it the perfect place to celebrate my birthday. Big thanks to our hosts, Brian and Michael for making our stay so memorable. Will definitely be back!

The hosts did seem welcoming. The house is great although there needs to be more towel hooks for drying or several more towels when 4 people are there for more than a couple of day.

Excellent Stay!

We had an amazing stay at the kitchen house. The entire place was decorated so cute and every detail was impeccable. We loved it and will be back! Brian was super helpful and made our stay with the fresh bread, cookies and local craft beer to try. We had a great visit!

Gorgeous property in lovely location!

We dropped our son off at a local college in Lexington and stayed in this lovely property for the weekend. I’m from the gorgeous decor to the welcome treats, every part of our stay was perfect. The home is delightful and the owners were attentive and friendly. We plan to stay here each time we visit our son! Thank you for a great time!

Perfect home base for adventure

With rain in the forecast we decided to cancel camping and look for alternate accommodations. We found the Kitchen House last minute and ideally located. It was the perfect home base for our biking adventures, central to the areas we wanted to visit. Brian was responsive and gave us a place to hose down and securely store our bikes. The cottage was clean and colorful – we had everything we needed – the local cider, craft beer, cookies and bread were unexpected and pretty much gone by the time we ended our stay. We will absolutely return if they'll have us.

From character to location to cleanliness and hospitality, perfect is the best adjective that comes to . mind. Very quiet area and very convenient access to the interstate. When the host renovated this place it is obvious there was attention to detail in making it an impressive little place.

Weekend getaway

From the moment we stepped into the exquisitely renovated home, we were in an aura of tranquility and refinement. Every facet of the house exuded a perfect blend of comfort, style, and charm. Every corner unveiled a new marvel, from the tastefully decorated living space to the impeccably appointed bedrooms. The location was perfect for our stay, with access to all the local parks and breweries we were looking to visit. The recommendations for eateries also helped us find another location we'll be sure to visit again.

Fun and colorful kitchen house at rhe manor

Check in was easy, communication very prompt, owners super nice, beds comfortable, love the colorful and fun decor, easy access to interstate and convenient to places we visited, kitchen has very nice appliances and needs for cooking. Loved the extra touches of fresh flowers and local treats. Truly a wonderful place to stay that i will recommend to friends and family.

Perfect little nest

This rental was beautifully decorated in such happy and bright colors and artwork. The property was stunning. It was fascinating being surrounded by such wonderful, historic places. The hosts left us cookies, bread, and beer all from local artisans. So very thoughtful and welcoming. The bed is incredibly soft! We would certainly recommend staying here!
