Hi Maire Thank you for taking the time to give your review of the property. It is great to hear that you would rent the house again. To recap on the issues raised. The garden is over one and a half acres and takes enormous upkeep beyond what is immediately visible . We are addressing the timber areas and ask guests to use the many different areas of the garden at their discretion. There are four distinct lawned areas which are not accessed by timber. I hear you on the oven door, the cleaner has just told me that it closes but does not fit tight at the moment. We use the short cylindrical wine glasses that are used a lot on the continent. That is due to guest feedback who say that the stemmed ones are hard to load in the dishwasher and that we find the stems break easily. I understand the mention of a small freezer. Space is limited and we can look at it. I hope that you enjoyed the new dining table which is a special recent addition and is hand made from local spalted beech a by local craftsman in the Slieve Blooms. Other guests have commented how much they enjoyed it. It is good to hear that you hope to return. We really hope to welcome you again next year, when the new Scandinavian bbq, sleeping hut will be ready by the stream. We will also be making a lake in the lower half of the garden next to the stream. Martin has been with us from the very start. He helped me plant over 1500trees and bushes and 5000 bulbs 19 years ago. He is a great friend of the house and our guests. Every good wish to the two of you. Michael

I know that possibly we possibly lose business from guests at the time of booking, But feel that in this sometimes crazy world it is so important to rest deeply and recharge our batteries. That was our vision when we built Woodlandsong and we try to uphold it. Certainly guests who stay with us really appreciate the call. The garden, chats by turf fires, a glass of red wine, good home baking and our well stocked library seem to be what our guests enjoy. Our architect at the time recommended that we make two upstairs bedrooms where the second living area is, but we prefer the open plan nature and flow of the living space as we have it.

We have decided to welcome guests to visit with a family pet because we know over the years that guests with pets tend to be very mindful and considerate, The absence of the internet has been commented on positively by many guests. We find that it is simply more restful and relaxing that way and many of you agree. If the temptation gets to much however the house receives a signal and there are great cafes in Mountmellick and Tullamore.
