Ole Rustic Red in Cloudcroft

Step back into a simpler place and time!

Our cabin is located in a quiet neighborhood, on a quarter acre lot. Newly remodeled for comfort and enjoyment, but still has that rustic charm to give you the perfect mountain getaway! Wildlife can often be spotted wandering freely in the neighborhood amongst the tall pine trees.

Breathe in the fresh mountain air while sleeping on our king sized Serta Perfect Sleeper. Additional guests can choose from the XL memory foam twin located in the sunroom or the queen sofa bed in the living room.

You can cook your own meals in our fully stocked kitchen, then spend the evening playing corn hole or roasting marshmallows!

A few details to know before you book:
-The cabin is on a pier foundation, so floors are cold against your feet in the winter. We recommend house slippers for winter stays. We have central heating, radiators, and a wood burning fireplace to keep the air temperature warm.
- Verizon and T-Mobile users get good service, but AT&T does not. We have wireless 5G internet and a Roku TV.

-Pets are welcome, with no extra pet fee, but we ask that you do not leave them unattended in the cabin without being kenneled. An extra small kennel is available at the cabin.
-The cabin is .25 miles from a paved road, and we have parking spaces directly in front of the cabin. 4 wheel drive is not normally needed, but may be necessary in extreme winter conditions.
-We offer a weekly and monthly discount. Washer and dryer use is available for weekly and monthly stays.

I am always available by text, phone or messaging, but will not be on the property during your stay, unless there is an emergency and you ask me to come. You will have complete privacy and use of the whole cabin.

Tracy was an amazing host, Ole Rustic Red was perfect for my wife and sons first trip to White Sands. Tucked in the mountains above, with hiking and amazing food at Fernando's burritos just short trek away in Cloudcroft. We look forward to our next visit. The Strawberry Full Moon will be hard to match in the future.

Red cabin

Been renting cabins in cloudcroft and Ruidoso for the last fifteen years... This is by far the most dilapidated.Little cabin we've ever stayed in. To begin with, the sofa in the living room is a joke, almost falling apart, the stairs to the bedroom raw wood. Masterbdrm.upstairs and bathroom on 1st floor . The refrigerator the toilet seat, the shower.Everything needs work.There are no screens on any of the windows except for the kitchen.

Relaxing mountain getaway.

I knew it was going to be a good trip when we had three bull elk walk across the road as soon as we pulled up to the driveway! The house was cozy and we enjoyed the elk and mule deer walking through the backyard during our visit. We enjoyed shopping in Cloudcroft and hiking some of the Lincoln National Forest trails, as well as visiting the White Sand Dunes during sunset. Beautiful area and would definitely rent this home again.

Quiet place to chill and relax

My wife and two teenage boys wanted to escape 105-degree Arizona, and Cloudcroft was a nice 9,000 foot elevation alternative. Temperatures in June were 80 high, 65 low. Comfortable enough to leave doors and windows open for fresh breeze. The place is very quiet, but close to other cabins. We met several of the neighbors, all very nice people. It is not completely "middle of nowhere". The cabin is 5 miles from the edge of town, 10 miles to the Cloudcroft center. There are nice restaurants and shopping, including delicious BBQ and Pizza/Beer brewery. For supplies, Allsup's, Family Dollar, and New Village Hardware were limited in selection, so drove 40 minutes each way to Alamagordo several times for groceries and supplies. Kitchen was well-stocked. Coffee with electric kettle and french press. Induction stove, oven, fridge and freezer, pans, enough to prepare our meals. We used Cloudcroft as a "home base" and drove to see other parts of NM, including Roswell, Ruidoso, and Mescalero. Fire danger was Yellow, so we only had one outdoor fire pit for hot dogs and S'mores, and one inside fireplace, using clean wood purchased at Allsup's to avoid smoke. Only one bathroom, and shower was really just a hand-held hose connected to bathtub nozzle. The cabin is an "A-Frame" so often bumped my head going up-stairs to master bedroom. I am not used to walls that slant. The Roku-TV and Wi-Fi allowed us to play video games during the day, and watch movies at night.

Perfect getaway!!

Great Birthday Getaway

We decided to get out of El Paso for our daughter's 4th and Tracy delivered! Our girls loved having a ton of space to play outside and enjoyed all the available board games. Cabin was cozy and relaxing!

Great place to disconnect and relax.

The property was great and provided a variety of games to play. My wife and I had a great time chatting and playing. We loved the awesome eats and stores in the area and would book again in a heartbeat. I would recommend the property to anyone who wants a simple place with beautiful views.
