Great hospitality
We had some trouble checking in but they solved it pretty quickly. It wasn't possible to buy breakfast although the information at hotels.com said so. Everything else was really good.

Principe motsvarade tyvärr inte våra förväntningar. Det var inte prisvärt alls. Vi har bott på andra hotell under vår Costa Rica-resa i samma prisklass som varit många gånger bättre än det här hotellet. Inte ens jämförbart. Städningen var bra, wi-fi var bra och personalen i receptionen var trevliga och hjälpsamma. Där tar de positiva sakerna slut. Hotellet kändes nergånget och tomt. Det skulle finnas en hotellbar och det fanns det men den var helt tom och öde. Poolområdet stämde INTE överens med bilderna vi sett vid bokning - det var en besvikelse. Se min egen bild jag lagt upp och jämför med hotellets. Dessutom rann det inget vatten i "fontänen" i poolen som på bilderna. Poolen var inte fräsch. Det låg verktyg slängda vid sidan av poolen också och det såg inte trevligt ut. Vi skulle inte komma tillbaka och skulle tyvärr inte rekommendera hotellet till vänner.

This was a great stay. Less than 5 min to the beach, there is a dirt path across the street. Everyone who tends to the property is so very helpful. We arrived way later than planned and Richard was so accommodating. He even carried our bags up. The place was super cute, pool was a great way to end the day. It’s right off the Main Street but tucked away for privacy, there is no foot traffic because someone is always on duty so it’s very safe. The red apartment was clean, well kept and maintained, and we’d stay again for sure.

We had a wonderful stay and wished we could stay longer. We had everything we could possibly need. The apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. Christian was attentive and accommodating. The location was perfect! Less than a five minute walk to the beach, nearby restaurants and convenience stores. Highly recommend staying here and we look forward to visiting again!

Tranquil Gem on the Beach
Very beautiful location with great amenities. The host was very responsive and accommodating to our late arrival. It is designed very peaceful to nurture your soul and have a true Costa Rican experience. Centrally located next to everything you could need and within steps to the beach. We enjoy this nice villa right in the heart of Santa Teresa.

Located just opposite the beach, perfect location, within walking distance to many restaurants and bars.Service, cleanliness and good value for money. Was very clean and well kept, great hospitality from the hosts, really friendly. Was a very plesant stay, definitely would recommend. Rosabella, christian and joanna were so ftiendly and attentive. Rien à dire au niveau de l'accueil des propriétaires Rossela et Christian, les appartements sont agréables et spacieux, néanmoins le bruit incessant de la route/piste (klaxons, bus, motos, quads, etc...) ainsi que la poussière générée par le va et vient quasi permanent, sont vraiment pénibles, tôt le matin et tard dans la nuit ! Sans oublier une espèce de "boite de nuit" à proximité... Dommage, nous étions venus il y a environ 8 ans, la vie sauvage était beaucoup plus présente et le calme également. On ne vient pas au CR pour la fête ou subir les bruits de circulation, vraiment dommage pour la "PURA VIDA". Et ce constat est valable pour la plupart des localisations côtières depuis Santa Tereza jusqu'à Flamingo. Le Costa Rica perd son âme !

Es un lugar tranquilo, mejoraría el mantenimiento de la piscina (no la pudimos usar los primeros días porque no estaba limpia) y la limpieza de los cuartos (ingresaron un día sin avisarnos). El resto excelente, las personas que atienden super atentas.

Great location, but we got a room that was facing the back in somebody’s backyard so that wasn’t feeling very relaxing . If that was explained in the description I wouldn’t have booked that room . Also WiFi and TV did not work the whole time we were there so that was really frustrating.

Hello, Lyuba Daniele So sorry to get this message and to know you did not like the position of the apartment. To be honest with you on other websites it is written very well that this apartment is facing the back of the building, this is because I want my guest to know what they are booking. I can see now that Expedia is not giving enough information and this is a problem for me as well. I am writing to them to ask why they have been taken off information about the apartments. On the other hand, guests usually enjoy the relax sleeping in this apartment being on the back and not facing the road. Overall I do hope you enjoy other qualities of the Principe and the beautiful beaches just crossing the road. regarding the internet connections, I have just sent a message to the ONLY guy that manages all the business in all areas of Santa Teresa, and hopefully, he will turn up and check the lines and modem in the apartment. Said that you probably already understood that it is not easy to get these kinds of problems to sort it out in the same day as it does happen in a town, this is a downside of being out in Nature. Now whenever you are thinking to came back to Santa I can promise you super special treatment in a more suitable apartment facing the front of the building. It's only been a day and we miss Principe del Pacifico already! We stayed there for a week and enjoyed every moment of it. It's right across the street from a beach access which was great for my husband who surfs and well as for myself and the kids. It's especially helpful when you are ready to head home from the beach...across the road, outdoor shower, and then a dip in the pool. Christian, the owner, is awesome....he lives on the property and is a great resource for any questions. We highly suggest visiting the Playa Hermosa tide pools if you have kids, or if you don't...either way they are cool...you have to go at low tide though so check out those tide charts in order to make the most of it. We also suggest visiting the Montezuma Butterfly and Beer Garden....the butterfly garden was closed for renovation when we were there this time but we've been to it in years past and it was great...they said it will probably reopen in high season 2021. It's still a great Beer/Restaurant Garden and a hop, skip, and jump to some waterfalls that are easy to get to with kids (they will give you directions to the waterfall hike at the Butterfly and Beer Garden). We also did the Montezuma Waterfall hike but I'm not gonna lie... it was tough with kids, especially after a night's rain. Luckily we had a guide...the guide and my husband carried the kids on their back through many parts of it.

El hotel tiene una excelente ubicación y es perfecto para paseos en familia, amigos o pareja. Sin embargo, la apariencia del hotel está un poco descuidada no está como se ve en fotos. El hotel tiene 2 espacios para parqueo que por ahora solo puede ser utilizados por vehículos altos, nosotros debimos dejar el vehículo en la calle. Tuvimos inconvenientes al momento de realizar el pago. Reservamos con una tarjeta y al llegar al hotel no tenían datáfono para realizar el pago. El dueño nos buscó soluciones pero tuvimos que cancelar en otro hotel. Considero que debe contactar al cliente haciéndole ver esas observaciones antes de llegar.

Y me alegra saber que disfrutaste de la ubicacion de el Principe. Me alegra saber que, en cualquier caso, el personal estuvo a la altura de resolver el problema de el datafono. De toda manera estamos esperando un tecnico para resoverlo de forma definitiva. The people working there were so nice and friendly- the receptionist Elaine was so informative and told us of all the activities! Very personable! The place is a little gem and was fully booked so we had last room available which was ok, but had hardly a terrace and was situated at the back- needs some improvement in this room- Others rooms were very lovely with big terraces- Cant complain about the price though and location was excellent! Right across from beach and close to everything

Generally nice stay but a few notes...
Hotel was overall fine and room was clean. The staff was also very nice! The hotels.com site and the hotel’s website advertised an in-room fridge, a hotel bar next to the pool, and a waterfall in the pool. However, there was not an in-room fridge (but they let us use the kitchens), there was not a bar (we wanted to sit by the pool with a drink), and the waterfall didn’t work. While not the hotels fault, the extremely dusty/dirty condition of Santa Teresa made for an unexpectedly dirty and cough creating experience.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and they managed to sort us out with great day trips, local knowledge and an awesome Quad. If you’re looking for somewhere super quiet uber clean and friendly this is the place for you.

Disappointed.
Hotel was not at all what it looked like on Expedia. No microwave or anything to cook on in the "kitchen". Door was very difficult to lock, as the two sliding doors did not align well. Turtle shell on the wall, as a decoration, seemed odd, in a country that is supposed to protect turtles. The hotel was not worth the money I paid.

Dear David, We are sorry that you didn't like the place but it is hard to have communication with someone who stays just for one night in the hotel. The suite that you booked is one of the only two in the whole hotel that doesn't have a kitchen that's why it is the cheapest that we have. Regarding the turtle shell, trust us that we would never kill any turtle just to hang the shell as a decoration, if you had taken a second and ask about the story you could know that we found the shell in the beach and we decided to paint it and use it a decoration because of its beauty. But anyways good vibes and good luck in your trip around Costa Rica.

Great little apattments with little kitchenettes. Super friendly and accommodating staff, guest relations all spoke fairly good english. Quite and relaxing place about a 5 minute walk from the beach.

Nous avions la chambre seul près de la piscine, pas de hammac même s'il y en a un sur la photo. Nous sommes près de la route principal.. VTT et motocross passent a longueur de journée et le soir et font BEAUCOUP de bruit. En plus nous avions un moustiquaire pas de fenêtre a un endroit donc nous entendions TOUT! Le garde de l'hôtel parle qu'en Espagnol donc pas moyen de poser des questions le soir.. La chambre était très propre et le wi-fi fonctionnait bien aussi!

Close to the beach-the only advantage!
This hotel is too expensive for what you get. The only advantage is to be close to the beach. It is noisy at night and so terribly dusty when you are on the main road! They really should finished their roads... Montezuma is much nicer. The beach is fabulous however! If you go, don't rent anything or n the main road. Camping by the sea is probably nicer than a hotel on the main road.

I'm so sorry for this, but I want to advise you that they are working on the road, they just fix the first two km and from tomorrow they will follow until playa hermosa, no dust anymore and still sorry for the dust

Nice apartment with kitchen and close to the beach
Our stay started out with a little hicccup and we stayed one night in a small room. However Christian and his wife were very accommodating and helpful. They refunded us the difference and let us choose from two apartments. The apartment we got was wonderful with a great kitchen and balcony. It was close to everything with a 5 min walk to: 3 beach accesses, two grocery stores, good restaurants (Rancho Burger, Soda Tiquicia and Marriane's bakery)and a nice surf shop (Kina). Also Christian provides surf lessons. You are a little far from the bank and center of town which is nice because it's quiet but recommend having a car or renting an ATV for convenience. Also the hotel pool was very nice complete with an outdoor shower.

I stayed in the green apartment and it was terrific, such a cute space with a kitchen and massive patio. The owner Christian gave me a surf lesson which was so much fun, he s a great teacher and very patient. Crista and Nicola, the staff, where so amazing. They were very helpful and welcoming. I am definitely planning on returning to Santa Teresa and this hotel.

The hotel was in a great location. It was clean but there could have had more attention put on it. Rooms were nice but the doors are kept open until guests arrive, leaving room for mosquitos and bugs to make their way in. Owner is great, really friendly.
