We were very pleased with our stay at Villa Marunga. The home and property are beautiful, and Costa Rica is a great place to visit. Having Jeny there to make breakfast for us was amazing. She did an excellent job of creating a wonderful breakfast with whatever we had available, and she is a lovely person.
Communication with the management was great, and they provided nice recommendations for things to do and places to eat.
A couple notes about the property:
- the wifi was very spotty; I mention this only in case you need to do any sort of work or other projects that require good, consistent internet. That being said, we were able to consistently get decent 4LTE cell service in the upstairs bedroom that is to the left if facing the house from the front (first bedroom to right at top of spiral stairs), and it was sufficient to support FaceTime and Teams-type calls
- the road into the house is about a mile long and is not paved, so it is pretty rough in spots; I only mention this to ensure you have a vehicle that can handle it (does not need to be 4-wheel drive though)
Overall, it is a great place to stay and a place we will definitely revisit if coming to this part of CR again.
