“I had been to the Black Lion three years before visiting the area my kin folks left in 1838 to come to Ohio. The accommodations and the meals were great. We went to the Welsh Library in Aberystwyth and hit the mother load of information of our ancestors in Lampter and Betws Bledrws.”

“The room was clean and well presented in a pretty idyllic location. Quite and not very looked. Local pud was within a 10 minute walk and they served great food. The pud overlooked a river and in the summer months there seating available to be able to sit along side the river. We were provided with tea, coffee and biscuits. “Excellent friendly hotel. Ample parking, clean and comfortable rooms. Restaurant excellent. Owners are very friendly. Nothing too much trouble. There was a minor set back with checking in. Check in from 4 but door locked. It was a little frustrating as I’d been working all day but wasn’t waiting too long. Hopefully was a one off as I will be surely checking in again when I’m in the area. ”

“Well maintained basic room in Aberporth a few minutes walk from the park and beaches. Clean, nicely decorated row of rooms on top of a coffee shop, easy free parking in back. Kettle and small kitchen part but not fully equipped for cooking. Several restaurants around but kitchens seem to close at 8 pm, small convenience store just down the street. As in many hotels in the UK, floor was carpeted. Would have been nice with a fan as it was quite warm.”
