Colebrook is located in charming Litchfield County where you will be surrounded by wonderful state parks, excellent hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, streams and lakes. SKI RESORTS:There are 5 ski resorts between 30 and 60 minutes from the house, including: Ski Butternut, Mohawk Mountain (a popular destination for both day and night skiers and snowboarders), and Catamount Ski Area. Snow tubing is located nearby as well. There is even a small sledding hill directly off the back of the house which will delight children of all ages.
In the summer, the lovely town pond, where you and your children can enjoy a delightful swim, is five minute away. Colebrook has its own lively Norbrook Farm Brewery, where they host food trucks and serve delicious craft beers in a beautiful setting (450 acres including hiking and biking trails). We are located just beside Norfolk with its Yale summer Chamber Music Festival, and below the culturally rich Berkshires with all its antiquing and restaurants and the vibrant Great Barrington. We can recommend all our favorite hikes and bakeries, wonderful places for dinner (although our favorite thing to do is cook and eat at home overlooking our lovely Mt. Pisgah). You will be amazed at how relaxing and restoring it is to be here at our quiet sanctuary.
