We loved our stay at the Eagle’s Crest cabin. The drive in through the national forest was awesome and when we got to the cabin, we just couldn’t believe the raw beauty around us. We used the cabin as a home base for our adventures, but you could totally come here and do all the things - or stay at the cabin and do nothing except relax - and have the best trip ever. It is about a 25 minute trip to the nearest sizable town of Woodland Park and there are plenty of good restaurants, grocery stores, gas, etc. there for you. We timed a grocery pickup at Safeway for when we got to town before we headed to the cabin and it worked out perfectly. We were so happy that we were able to stay “secluded” in the mountains, but still not be too far from all the places we wanted to go. We went up Pike’s Peak, Garden of the God’s, and the Manitou Cliff Dwellings and none of that took more than 40-45 minutes to get to going down the mountain. We really appreciated all the little “luxe” items in our cabin, too. Nice dishes and silverware... nothing in there felt inexpensive. With all new appliances (plus a dishwasher, woo hoo!) and a new, nice, large washer and dryer, it really made it feel more luxurious than other places we’ve stayed. It is totally outfitted like a home and so what we brought was minimal. I did pickup some aluminum foil but they already had it in a drawer. :) I don’t know that I would have brought anything different except for maybe some flip flops for getting out of the hot tub so you don’t drip all over the floor. Hot tub was perfect and the view at night from it was spectacular. All interactions with the owners were great and we got to snuggle with their precious Lab who came to visit us on several occasions. Seeing her (her name is Breck) was a highlight of my 10 year old’s trip for sure. We just thoroughly enjoyed our stay so much. We would 100% stay here again and are already dreaming about the days when we can come back.
