Great stay
Had a family reunion with 41 folks for an afternoon and evening of fun. Used the propane cooker and built a fire in the fire pit. All went well. Not all stayed over night, but of those who stayed it was a positive experience.

Early season golf trip
The Yellow House fit our needs perfectly and Lori was more than accommodating when i misunderstood the second payment policy. This wasn't our first visit to the Yellow House and it certainly won't be our last.

This was was perfect as a home base for our whole family in from out of town for a wedding. Lots of space to socialize, plenty of bathrooms for wedding prep, and it really will sleep 25 (beds for 20).

Great place for group in town for football game
Our group of 10 (ages 4 - 40+) enjoyed our stay at the yellow house. Close to grocery store and short drive from downtown and campus. Ample parking for our group and PLENTY OF BEDS! We enjoyed the back patio and firepit. Far enough away from other houses, we weren't afraid to disturb neighbors. Would rent again for a similar situation.

Yellow House weekend stay
The Yellow House offered just what we needed and wanted for our family reunion. We were able to house everyone, and had places to be together and places to be apart. The large, mostly flat yard was great for activities with the kids. We appreciated having two refrigerators. Plenty of parking for all our cars. Things inside were not so precious that we were worried about being there. Host was very responsive to a couple of requests and questions before our stay.

Burgess Family stay
Our stay was what we needed, the house was large enough to accommodate our needs. There was some areas of the house that needed cleaned, like under the beds but other than that we had a wonderful stay. I would recommend the Yellow House to others to rent. We did have a storm go through Columbia and we lost power for a short time but as a former Boy Scout we were prepared and I bought a camp stove and was able to fix supper. We did get power back on quickly. It was a good stay.

Spacious but Shabby
The property manager was great in terms of communication. However, the pictures don't reflect the age of the house with its stained carpets and lumpy mattresses. We also had an issue with ants in the kitchen. On the plus side, there is ample space for large families with plenty of beds and bathrooms.

I am sorry the Yellow House did not live up to your expectations. The ants have been taken care of, hopefully they won't be a problem again! Thank you for letting us know about the mattresses , we will address that as soon as possible, as well as the carpet stain.

Family Celebration Stay
We were in town for our son's wedding - and the house is perfect for his groomsman & our family. We were able to comfortably host a post wedding day party for at least 40 people. The house is large, and yet cozy. The owner was quickly available when we had questions prior to booking. This home checked off all the boxes for what we needed this week.

Perfect space for big groups.
The yellow house is very spacious. We had nine adults and three children and everyone had their own beds and baths. The location is the east side of town which fits perfectly for our plans and it’s not far from anywhere in Columbia. We have stayed there multiple years. It’s a very comfortable weekend. A big beautiful backyard and patio for enjoying outdoors. And the owner is very responsive to any questions.

Great place for a mixture of adults!
We had people from all over the USA coming to town for a conference during a Mizzou football game week. We needed the most reasonably priced vrbo that would fit the most amount of people. This house WORKED! It has plenty of bedrooms and lots of bathrooms! There were several who commented that it was well managed and clean. When you use somewhere the first time for a variety of people you don't know if it will please everyone. We had NO COMPLAINTS and they all said they would stay there when we came back again. They even accommodated us checking in a day earlier because we didn't need the last day we had originally planned. Very accommodating! IT WAS AWESOME!

Perfect gathering place!!
We chose this house for our out of town kids to stay during a family wedding. The rooms are large with so many beds and private bathrooms for each!! So many rooms to gather in and spread out in. Great location, convenient to everything in Columbia. Communication with host is excellent, very welcoming and friendly. Very reasonably priced. Perfect for large gatherings. I tell everyone about it!!! Thanks for hosting us!!!

The property had plenty of room for our group of 12. I was able to put girls on one side of the house and boys on the other with enough space in the house that the kids could all get ready when needed. There were plenty of bathrooms and beds for everyone and at the same time enough space to let kids be themselves. We rented this property for a school event in which students had to qualify for competition in Columbia. At the time of the rental I had estimated how many students might go. I contacted Lori and told her the situation. She was very understanding of the situation and even worked with us on check out times to make our stay easier.

Perfect house for our team
My ultimate frisbee team stays at Yellow House whenever we have a tournament in Colombia, MO, and the place is perfect for us. Lori is very communicative and helpful, and the house is great for our team with it's big comfortable living room and many bedrooms and bathrooms. The house was very clean and we had everything we needed. The location is also very close to a grocery store, which is helpful. We hope to keep coming back to this house!

Wonderful place for large gathering
We just spent a weekend at the Yellow House. Four families which included us and three daughters & their families. (6 adults, 2 teenagers, and 3 little kids) We met here for a family Christmas since Columbia is mid-way for everyone. The house was an excellent choice for us, giving each family their own bedroom & bathroom. With three livingrooms and four tables w/ chairs there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out to play cards, do art projects, and just hang out. The backyard is huge so plenty of room for the kids to run around. (We played a very competitive game of kickball) The patio is very large with 3 large picnic tables and a fire ring. We made s'mores so bring your marshmallows and sticks. The kitchen is stocked with lots of dishes, pots/pans, & utensils. There are two refrigerators so plenty of room for food & drinks. The main livingroom is huge, with a very large sectional and two recliners. The other two livingrooms were nice with couchs and chairs. All 3 livingrooms had tvs with direct-tv and Netflix. The internet was hit or miss at times. If you are looking for a great place for family gatherings then this place is great! (We plan to go back again next December) However if you are expecting a miraculously clean place then this might not be for you. It was mostly clean, but it could definitely use a deep cleaning. It is a huge house so I'm sure it's hard to hit every detail. Some examples were cobwebs in ceiling corners, dust build-up on ceiling fans, refrigerator needed a good cleaning, (especially freezer!) and the wood floors needed to be swept better around the base-boards. Also several windows needed cleaned, as well as the windowsills. The beds were clean, although one of the queen beds had a big hole in the fitted sheet. The bathrooms were OK. Overall it was acceptable. I will say the house has a very "homey" feel to it. Almost like coming home to grandma's house. 😀

Our experience at the Yellow House
We really enjoyed staying here, works great for our family. Looking forward to staying here at Christmas. However the last two times we were there, the kitchen was dirty. We had to wipe off the counters and sink before we could use them. The oven needs a really good cleaning. The rest of the house is great. Just think they need to talk to the cleaning crew. Looking forward to staying there again.

comfortable stay
The Yellow House is a comfortable place for big groups of family and friends to gather and visit and yet stilll enjoy quiet privacy when needed. It is very close to all necessary amenities, grocery stores, convenience store, gas, etc, and not far from downtown and campus. The yard and back deck are favorites of ours, for group conversations and to let kids run around. It's all on one main floor and very easy to navigate for young and old.

Friends Golf Getaway

Great Scrapbooking Getaway for our group of 9 friends
Perfect house for our scrapbook getaway. Plenty of space for tables and plenty of beds for the group to have their own bed and space. Extra bathrooms were nice as well, so we didn't have to coordinate showers etc. The only issue we had was one bathroom got missed for cleaning, but I am sure it was just an oversight.

Yellow House is super for big groups
Yellow House is our favorite hangout in Columbia. Its perfect for our family of 5 couples and two toddlers. 5 bedrooms with private baths makes everyone comfortable. Especially now, when we are trying to socially distance from others. The yard is beautiful and very well maintained. Lots of outdoor fun. Recent upgrades in appliances and furniture are noted, and helpful. It's also in a great location with grocery stores less than a mile away. It's not fancy and new, but it's a fabulous place to gather and stay. Highly recommended!

Yellow house met our needs!

Perfect mizzou reunion house
The house was exactly as listed and perfect for our Mizzou 10 year reunion. Close to downtown, plenty of parking, and super comfortable for large groups. Communication with the host was easy, and I really appreciated the plethora of towels and toiletries. Will definitely return and recommend to anyone with a large group.

Beds could have been a bit more comfortable and internet was a little slow with everyone on the wifi, but other than that it's a great home and the owners are easy to get a hold of and helped us out with getting groceries for us before we arrived!!!

Big house with lots of room for our family
We use vrbos often. This house exceeded our expectations for the interior. We would have used outdoor facilities if they had been equal to the inside. The overgrown basketball court was a disappoint for our son and grandson. A mattress topper would have made the beds more comfortable. House was very well stocked but didn't find a slow cooker. Everything worked nice board games and books for our grandchildren We would stay there again and would recommend to any large group. Our group of 12 had plenty of space for alone times.

Fantastic Family House
We had 4 families coming from TX and WI to visit the newest family addition - twin boys. This house was perfect for multiple families, lots of cooking, and entertaining. It allowed us to celebrate a wonderful holiday together with our family and friends in MO. The couches, mattresses, and towels could be better, but were functional and clean. Lots of private bedrooms and living rooms, so you could split off from the main crowd if you need some quiet time. Loved the little white rocker. We’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend this property!!! PS: None of us were able to find the property via GPS and the address. Not sure why it comes up wrong, but we were 0 for 4 on finding it.
