I apologize for your uncomfortable stay at our place. You may have experienced less than perfect conditions. We have changed our cleaning source.

So happy you were able to utilize the fly swatter. We live out in the county and the guest house boasts of old fashioned charm, so yes, there will be bugs due to the house being old. The furnace area is usually hot because people think the AIR on the furnace will cool down the house, but all it does is heat up the pool room. The air conditioner is a window unit and there is a sign by the thermostat asking guests not to turn the AIR on by way of thermostat. The heat does not radiate into the living space nor is it a fire hazard because the pool heater metal casing is never hot to the touch to start a fire with the pool inner tubes getting too close to the heater. We have lived here for 10 + years. That would be a very bad manufacturing mishap if the pool heater was designed to heat the outside of the metal. The hot air you felt was someone turning the furnace on and the furnace fan was running, and making the pool room hot. Our rescue dog is very protective of our property. He has been abused as a puppy and is very nervous. He cannot interact with other guest house dogs other than our two puppies we have in the same house that he lives in. He is slowly learning how to share and be kind with them. We did not let our formally abused dog make contact with your dog and I am sorry you felt scared, but we tried to be reassuring to you a couple different times. As for the towel situation, there are extra towels in the closet for guests to use. I'm sorry you couldn't find them upon further inspection when we didn't bring them over right away. I checked after you left and there were plenty on the shelf. And finally, we suggest to our guest that they use the washer right before they leave, because it DOES back up into the shower. This is a known problem and we make sure we let people know about it if they are staying more than a couple days. The house is on a cement slab with no basement to give the shower drain a little more of a downward grade compared to the washer. We will put up better signage on the washer itself so people are aware even though it is explained in the welcome book that is required reading if you were to stay in the house as our guest.
