We booked the carriage house with expectations of brigning our 13 year old deaf pup to have a safe environment. However, the first evening, we were inside the pool area that did have a fence around it, when the property owner let out his dogs. A pit bull came running barking and snarling at the gate trying to get at my dog! He said he did not like other dogs! We have to cross this "shared space" to get to our car. He said he would be very careful. We were out for the day the next day and came home to the owners dog in the fenced in pool area. I asked her If she could get her dog so I could let mine out. She said her dog was friendly with people. But was very protective over their property. I did meet the dog and he was nice. She put him up and I took my dog out. The next day I was in the pool, they let the dogs out. The dog came running to the gate growling trying to get at my dog who was wagging her tail, because she is deaf. This put me on HIGH alert all weekend. If you have a property that you rent and welcome dogs, you should not have a dog that does not like other dogs. This is a mix for disaster. Just a matter of time
Also, the pool heater was turned on after being repaired. It was really hot in our house so I was going to go for a swim. I went to get a float out of the pool room and it was extremely hot in there. I looked around to see where the heat was coming from. It was the pool heater, which was fine, but there were several intertubes stack up touching the heater. They were very hot to touch. I moved them right away.
On Friday evening I asked the host for wash cloths as there were none in the house I had to ask again on Sunday because we still had not got any.
There was a family of spiders living behind a dirty chair in the kitchen. I killed 6 of them with a fly swatter. There were cob Webs everywhere. The entire place needed a general cleaning. The washer drain backed up into the shower and had dirt all over the shower floor. I told the host and her reply was, "it's on our list of things to do"
All that being said it is a beautiful place and the grounds are very well kept. It's a beautiful neighborhood and very quiet.
