This is the worst management for the house we stayed in. First of all they claimed they gave us one towel & one washcloth for each person. I told them this wasn’t the case and they still didn’t send us any more. We had to go to Walmart to buy towels and washcloths. Also, who uses 1 washcloth and 1 towel for 7 days. Second, they replaced the Amazon firestick, but it doesn’t work and so the tv didn’t work because that’s all they use is firestick. So the kids couldn’t use the TV. Claim was coming back to fix it, never did. Thirdly, the washer did not work. (Obviously didn’t check before we arrived) We asked for maintenance to come and fix or replace. Was told that the washer can’t be replaced until after we depart the vacation rental. We had to take our laundry to a laundromat 1 hr away. Kitchen sink sprayer doesn’t work. Heavy dust on blinds in almost all the bedrooms. Also, maintenance man said he never been to this property before. So that means no cleaning had been done before we arrived. There were dead roaches in the sofa. Blinds were already broken in some bedrooms and in the living room. The garbage persons never picked up the garbage, so garbages piled up. If I could give this place a zero star I would. I hope the owners choose a new property management company because this one wasn’t it. Can’t believe we spent over 3K for a 7-day stay and paid more for stuff that should have been included.

We had family come in from Ohio and we all enjoyed staying at the house! It was the perfect size for all of us! The only suggestion would be new mattresses!

Family vacation

The house was as pictured and we had a great stay overall. My only recommendation would be to better stock the kitchen. Things were randomly stored And could’ve used more cooking utensils and spoons. Also, the fridge water spout needs a desperate clean. Luckily we were stocked up on water bottles because the fridge water spout was horrid. Overall we had an amazing stay and really enjoyed our time here!

Owners don't seam to care about guests' comfort.

It's a shame because the pictures make it show nicely and we were excited. However, upon check-in, our excitement turned south quickly. The beds are like plywood. The blinds are very cheap metal. Some of us had to tape foil to the windows to get relief from the sun. The great room furniture is the most uncomfortable we've ever encountered - all pieces are so old that there's zero cushion support. There are pet stains on the carpeting, which screams to be replaced. Not that the location could be helped but it is RIGHT on TOP of 12 so the traffic noise is loud. We had fans for white noise at night in the bedrooms. Before staying here, I questioned the agency why there weren't any recent reviews. I should have known better. Seems like they were all negative and the owner found a way to delete them. We definitely would not stay here again.

Dirty, no cable for the entire week with no resolution to issue. Out door lounge chairs missing

The house needs a good cleaning with rugs shampooed. Found a prescription pill on the floor that didn’t belong to anyone that was staying with us. This could have been horrible if one of young grandchildren picked up and ate it. We did not have cable the entire week and little was done to resolve issue. We received a call on our second to last day to say someone was coming out late afternoon to take a look at it. We told them never mind we were not sticking around for a service call during dinner time and we were leaving and would only have cable a day before we left. The pictures of the pool area had more lounge chairs than was actually there. Picture showed 8 there was only 4. Kitchen was well stocked and had everything one might need. Grocery stores were close. Beach was a walk down the driveway and through a path that went through the woods which was convient. Beach was nice and clean. Hot tub worked and pool area was enjoyable.

Great Place

The location was wonderful you have access to grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping within approx 1 mile in both directions. The house is as advertised some of the gates don’t lock on the deck and by the pool and the door by the kitchen has a tricky lock. Otherwise the house was good.

Overall good experience

I really would have loved to give this property a 5-star review. It is so spacious and comfortable for a big family, the pool wasn't open but the hot tub was a big hit for us. The location is excellent with a short walk to a really great beach. Shopping and necessities were close by. My main concern was the cleanliness, it was very dusty and we felt the need to wash most of the bed sheets prior to using them.

Nice house for the price

Very nice house with lots of room. Bedrooms were nice size and very clean. Short walk to the beach with multiple beach access points. Food shopping is very close (Harris Teeter one mile south and Food Lion one mile north. The house sits very close to the main road, which leads to loud road noise in the two bedrooms facing the road. If you are a light sleeper either bring ear plugs or choose smaller rooms on the other side of the house. We had very few utensils (spoons) which we advised the rental company. The delivery of more spoons never happened, so you might want to pack your own.

Spacious House with a lot to offer

First time renting a place in OBX went very well. House was as described with many bedrooms, open living area, pool, hot tub etc. was clean and easily accessible to beach with short pleasant walk. Some restaurants and shops were about a mile away which made for a nice walk or drive. Had dogs with us and it worked out well for them. Was a lovely quiet community in September with plenty of space to socially distance on beach. Weather was also great this time of year. My only negatives of house were the towels and soaps weren’t great and the kitchen utensils could use some Updating and my only negative about location was there were the most prickly burrs that kept getting in my dogs fur which I didn’t realize was an issue here. Overall though was a most pleasant experience

Nice Vacation

My family and I stayed in this home (age range 2 y.o. to 83 y.o.) We had 14 total with 9 adults and 5 kids. Layout: Worked very well for us for the most part. The double bunk bed room was on the bottom floor, right next to the outside door which was locked electronically so there was no way to ensure the younger kids would not leave the house. It would have been nice to have some way of locking that door manually from the inside. Wouldn’t be an issue for families that didn’t have a very quick and independent 2 year old running around! Bedrooms: We loved that the bedrooms each had their own bathroom. The rooms with deck access had curtains covering the sliding door but windows throughout only had blinds. Adding some type of room darkening blind or curtain would’ve been nice. Kitchen: Kitchen was a nice size and open so it was easy to move around with multiple people. Plenty of pantry and cabinet space. There was a liquid measuring cup but only 1 dry measuring cup (1/3 cup) so making things was difficult. Please consider adding a full set of measuring cups, few extra spatulas and an additional large cutting board. Rec Room: The pool table was advertised as full size but definitely was not full size. We didn’t use the rec room much so we didn’t mind but others may benefit from the info. Cleanliness: We were a bit disappointed with the cleanliness. The bathrooms and main areas were clean but the carpet in the bedrooms and stairs had very obvious pet stains. Not sure if the stains were recent or if the carpet was cleaned and the stains didn’t come out. There was plenty of grimy dust feeling to the furniture in the rooms and on the ceiling fans. We swept up and vacuumed black dog hair upon arrival (we don’t have a black dog). Under couches and other furniture didn’t look like it had been cleaned in a while. Our checkout time was 10am and the cleaners came by several times starting around 9am. This on top of the hefty cleaning fee... I’d expect the property to have been more thoroughly cleaned. Miscellaneous: A few of the pocket doors were missing the handle. The half bath on the top floor was most difficult to use. The code we were given stopped working around 9:30am on checkout day. Our checkout time was 10am. Pool was maintained and nice! Communication: Absolutely excellent!!! The property managers communicated thoroughly via email and text before and during our stay. A drain needed fixed and it was fixed quickly!

Lovely week in BOX. The pool was Great! House was very clean and comfortable. Could use some additional kitchen tools (i.e. large cutting board) as we are cooking every meal with the pandemic. Some cabinets need to be replaced/fixed and living room curtains had horrible stains on them. Bugs on the lower level but there were several storms. Overall a great stay in a nice home.
