NEW BEACHFRONT REMODEL! FAMILY-FRIENDLY!

Hi-Speed wifi! So you can still work, learn or play while enjoying the sound and view of the ocean from the second floor balcony. Our condo, Casa Que Pasa at the Island Retreat Condominiums, was built with all your friends' and families' (up to 8 adults + pack n play for 1 or 2 littles) needs in mind.

Always non-smoking and pet-free, the 3 bedrooms and 2 baths are arranged up to accommodate a couple or families, or 3 sets of friends and/or in-laws comfortably.

The feel of the interior is little Mexico, a lot of Austin and a touch of the Carribbean...CQP is both contemporary and timeless. We hope you enjoy our home away from home.

* Walking distance to the Beach Lodge, oldest restaurant & bar on the beach (directly in the dunes directly in front of Island Retreat) cheeseburgers and tallboys on the walkable to Kody's on 11th with some of the best seafood and putt-putt on the island

Host was very welcoming, this was a great condo, only thing we didn’t like was stairs. We are too old going up and down but would love to come back with our children and let them unload. It was very nice to have a starter of paper towels and supplies of toilet paper.

This is a hidden gem! The pool was amazing and a great size. I loved the balcony and being able to see both pool and bits of ocean! Not too bad of a walk to the beach. Freshly renovated and clean. One huge highlight was the live music on Saturday night. It was easy to hear from the balcony but wasn’t too loud to wake the littles. Two areas for growth- the beds were not very comfy. And we didn’t get the code to enter until 20 minutes before arriving. It was a nail biter. We also didn’t get final day instructions until the morning of, and we prefer knowing the expectations the day before. Maybe it’s a personal preference.

Family Friendly

We thoroughly enjoyed the condo and the amenities offered by the VRBO. We were impressed by the overall grounds, its maintenance, and the cleanliness of the pool. These amenities were perfect for our grandchildren (ages 1 to 8), providing them with plenty of space to run and play. The ease of access to an outdoor grill was an added bonus. The boardwalk to the beach was just the right distance, allowing us to get in our daily steps without feeling like we had to walk the entire Vegas Strip. The upkeep of the boardwalk was commendable!Upon our arrival, we found the VRBO to be clean and well-organized. Past experiences with other rentals have taught us to bring our own bath towels; however, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this VRBO was fully stocked with plenty of bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths for our entire group.One recommendation I would like to offer for your consideration is to repair or replace the washing machine, as it was inoperable during our stay. Additionally, having extra kitchen towels and blankets for the beds would be ideal.We hope to book again for next year!

Absolutely the Worst Vacation Rental Experience – Avoid at All Costs - See pics

** See the pics, which were taken right after check-in**I’ve never encountered a vacation home in such poor condition. The bathtub was completely clogged, making one of the bathrooms unusable for our group of 10 guests. There were no toilet tissues, no kitchen towels, and the faucet and other hardware were broken. Basic essentials were missing, which is unacceptable.The Wi-Fi didn’t work initially, and although restarting the router fixed it, that was the least of our problems.What made this experience even worse was the host’s complete lack of communication. I reached out multiple times about the clogged tub and other issues, but received no response. The host didn’t acknowledge the problems, let alone fix them during our stay.This was an incredibly frustrating experience. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this property. The host is unresponsive, and the home is poorly maintained. Worst host I’ve ever dealt with.

Amazing place to stay

Stayed here for the weekend with some fellow sailors. We had an amazing time. The condo was clean and well stocked. Honestly the air conditioning was my favorite part to enjoy after a day in the sun and heat and humidity. Super close to all the other beaches too if you want to venture out past the private beach. After a day of fishing and swimming we came back to the condo to relax and enjoy a few drinks on the patio and they had a live band performing by the pool that we got to enjoy from the balcony which was pretty cool. I will 100% book this stay again if I find myself in the port aransas area. The manager was amazing and friendly answered all the questions we had. 10/10 would recommend.

Great location

Check in was nice and easy. The complex is well maintained and security is always on hand. The pool was large clean and warm. The beach was a short paved walk from the pool. Our room was larger than it looked from the outside. The kitchen was a bit small but served it purpose. Bedrooms we large the Air conditioner was nice and cold. We had a nice view of the beach from our balcony. The were a few things. Master bedroom faucet handle was broken. We ran short on toilet paper. (There were 9 of us) and lastly the sliding glass right door was broken with a sign on it not to use. Unfortunately this made it difficult to secure the apartment. Fortunately it was on the second floor and as mentioned earlier they had security. Over all a nice place and we would stay again.

Quick family trip

Great location. It was the perfect place for our family entire crew 5 to 82. Very short walk to the beach. My son enjoyed the tennis courts! And all of us the pool. There was a live band on Saturday night but it was a great time too! Jason was quick about any questions we had! And had all the answers! Saving this spot for the future for sure!

Location

The condo was clean and the property owner was very accommodating the issue we had is that is states this is beachfront property and it really isn't. It still is a ways to the beach. Other then that the property was very nice and well taken care of. The kitchen was a little small and needed some deep cleaning and updated kitchen ware.

A few minor details that need improving

1. The cleaning people were still cleaning when we checked in at 4:00 p.m. 2. There was confusion as to where we were to get our parking permits and property bracelets, but we finally were given the permits and bracelets. 3. All of the smoke alarms were disconnected and taken down. We found them in the utility closet in the condo and let the front office know. They said they would have someone put them back up but that was not done while we were there. 4. The towel rack in the second bathroom was broken and gone. 5. The bed in the middle room was very uncomfortable to sleep on and there is a what looks to be a bullet hole in the window. 6. The televisions in the second and third bedroom were not connected to cable/internet, so they did not work. 7. The most irritating thing is there was a family with a 2 or 3 year old that ran back and forth across the entire condo above us until late in the evening and early in the morning, as well as dropped what sounded like bouncing balls on the floor. 8. Also, there were guests who were drinking and eating in the pool, which according to the pool rules were forbidden. Nothing was ever said to these guests. 9. The best part of the stay is the location of the condos to the beach, as well as the cleanliness of the pool.

Perfect Getaway!

This was booked for our anniversary trip and was perfect! The weather didn’t cooperate during our stay and we spent a lot of time in rental, it was great. Everything we needed in the kitchen, all rooms were comfortable, and great communication with owner. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you for sharing your place!

Location, location, location

The location was great with easy access to the beach. The condominium itself was older but the unit had been updated. The kitchen was very small, but I expected that after reading previous reviews. The living area was decent size with nice comfortable furniture. The furniture in the bedrooms weren’t good at all. The master bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on, plus the sheets didn’t fit the bed properly and kept slipping off at night. Communication with the owner was easy and he responded quickly. He’s very nice.
