“I got there about 11pm and it took a few rings of the bell for them to come out and check me in. Once I got my key, I had to drive to behind the man building and it was kind of hard to see because there were no signs or street lights. Once I got into my room I was hit with an overwhelming smell of fabuloso cleaner. This is usually a sign of a clean space but it felt overkill for the room to still be so untidy. “The Spartanburg Marriott is a lovely place in great condition with high end finishes in the common areas, a convenient parking garage on site, clean and comfortable rooms and a helpful staff. We've stayed multiple times, for one night at a time, when passing through the area. It's worth the short drive from the interstate to stay in a place that is quiet and welcoming. We'll be staying there again, and again.”

“Our room smelled like pets. In particular it smelled like a dog kennel. I have allergies and it caused me to become very congested and made me sneeze a lot. There was a terribly loud and persistent noise coming from the thermostat and heat/cool unit in our room. It started up about every five minutes or so. Even after we turned it off it made loud noises like an industrial refrigerator. 👎”

“The room looked to be remodeled with new floor, new bathtub surround, new sink, new mirror, new toilet, new TV stand and TV. Mattress was not comfortable for me. The phone in the room did not work. Housekeeping was zero. Bath, hand and wash towels were present at check in. No housekeeping on the second day. Had to get clean towels from the front desk. “Took three different room tries to get us in a room. First room we were to be in was having an ozone treatment. Second room had not been cleaned thoroughly. Third room which we finally stayed in had a disconnected fire alarm and no nozzle on the water connector. I took a picture of this. Tara who was working the front desk was excellent in trying to help us. She said management was going to offer us a discount but haven't seen it come through yet. ”

“The hotel itself is comfortable but we had asked for late checkout the night before we were to leave and were told we could stay until 1pm. At 11am the housekeeper knocked on the door, and then at 11:35 the front desk called and said we needed to be out by noon or we’d be charged for a half day, and that there was nothing in the computer about late checkout. It was a very stressful end to our trip.”

“This hotel was a disaster from the beginning. Its office hours are 11am - 7pm. I had to call someone to be able to check in! It had a big warning sign on the office window that if you backed in to your parking space you would be towed! My room only had two lights on the wall as I think the main light on the ceiling had been replaced with a smoke alarm. The room was very dim as one of the 2 lights was only 25 watts.
