Welcome to our Stunning Creekside Retreat! Once dubbed the “Most Incredible Mansion Rental in Texas” The Tonkawa Riverside Retreat is back & better than ever! Escape to tranquility and luxury at our exquisite 4200 square foot home nestled only 25 minutes from downtown, Waco! Perfectly situated on expansive acreage & boasting breathtaking country views, this idyllic retreat is your ticket to relaxation and rejuvenation.

Step into the spacious living area featuring high ceilings framed by beautiful beams and sprawling windows framing panoramic views of the surrounding natural beauty. With 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, our home offers a serene sanctuary for up to 14 guests.

Sink into plush beds/bedding and wake up to the soothing sounds of the creek just outside. Each bedroom also includes an ensuite bathroom and 2 of the bedrooms house pull out couches for additional sleeping options.

Relax and unwind in the spacious living area complete with pool & poker tables. Whether you're enjoying a movie night by the fireplace or hosting a gathering with loved ones, this inviting space sets the scene for unforgettable memories.

Enjoy our fully equipped kitchen boasting modern appliances and ample counter space. Dine in style at the large dining table while taking in the views of the great outdoors.

Step outside (with steaks in hand) to our charming bar and kitchen area. Grill up your favorite dishes while soaking in the ambiance of the surrounding nature. Don't forget to try your hand at fishing in the nearby creek, where you are welcome to cast a line and reel in the day's catch. Note: this creek water level depends the season and rainfall.

We are conveniently located just 20 minutes from the vibrant city of Waco, TX. We feel our retreat offers the perfect blend of secluded serenity and easy access to local attractions. Explore the charm of downtown Waco, visit the iconic Magnolia Market, cheer on your favorite Baylor Bears or embark on outdoor adventures in the nearby parks.

The water features surrounding the house are for aesthetic purposes and are only shin deep. Guests are welcome to sit in the water, but they are not made for swimming.

Bedroom 1 & 2 have 1 King bed plus 1 Queen pullout couch.

Bedroom 3 is a queen bed

Bedroom 4 has 2 twin size bunks beds for a total of 4 beds.

We booked this spot for a corporate leadership meeting for two nights. It was a great venue and everything was well communicated ahead of time. The host was responsive to questions. It is a very unique property and each guest was impressed with the layout, features, and general property location. It is very secluded as well so you dont have to worry about neighbors or noises.

Where do I begin? The owner is clearly a person after my own heart! All the living necessities are provided and they’re clean and look new as if they were selected just for your arrival. The interior design is gorgeous giving extra attention to the small details that make this place unique. The bedrooms are cozy and comfortable, and the showers are better than a five-star resort. I especially loved the vanity nestled at a window of the bathroom. The natural light and the feeling of being outdoors without sacrificing the luxury of air-conditioning is priceless. The home is clean with plenty of things to do if you prefer to stay indoors, but why would you because the outdoor space is amazing! I did not want for anything while I was there and mother nature was truly generous over the weekend as well! The creek just a few steps away had enough water to sit & relax while enjoying the sights and sounds, and the swimming hole just a few more steps away, left us speechless! I can’t emphasize enough how wonderful the privacy and comfort level are at the Tonkawa house. Looking forward to booking another stay as soon as possible!

SPECTACULAR

Tonkawa is an amazing place to stay. Great architecture. Great furnishings. Extremely peaceful. We felt relaxed as soon as we walked in. Very well thought out designs and living spaces. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Love it. Very special place.

eclipse on the creek

Perfect spot in Texas for the 2024 eclipse. Clouds cleared just in time for us! Remote location yet easy drive into town. The goodies, coffee, and eclipse glasses provided by the hosts were thoughtful and appreciated!
