A photographers dream
This property on the St Johns River is definitely the finest property to stay. This was our second stay in February at the bungalow. Theresa and Hal provide us with a secluded retreat that is fully furnished and very comfortable. We spent most of our time relaxing on the dock. I took thousands of photos of all the wildlife, birds, and raptors. We are looking forward to booking another stay. Thank you for your hospitality. Dale and Cheryl

Paradise indeed!
Theresa and Hal are the best hosts. They give great advice about places to see, eat and shop in the area. They are always so responsive to anything we need or any questions we have. The bungalow is well stocked with kitchen supplies, linens and towels, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The setting on the river is so peaceful and the perfect place view a variety of wildlife, extraordinary sunsets and occasionally a rocket launch from 60 miles away. It truly is a slice of paradise on earth and we hope to return. Thank you for sharing this beautiful place and for all you do to make our vacation enjoyable and comfortable.

Quiet Getaway
We love staying here. It’s a beautiful and quiet place to sit on the dock, look out over the water and go fishing. We enjoyed seeing the deer and wild turkeys too!

We got there a few hours after you left. Did you the 5 fawns playing in the yard. Very cute till I found out they ate the leaves off my new citrus trees .

Hidden gem
Incredible spot, really made us feel at home. House was perfect and the dock gave some gorgeous views out on the water. A true hidden gem that I’m glad we stumbled upon.

Fisherman paradise

Cozy getaway with all you need
Easy to get to, away from the busy-ness of city life. Bungalow is small, but seems larger due to the sunroom, TV gazebo, dock area, screened-in dock resting spot, and "she shed" with spa-like experience. Owners have provided everything that you need to enjoy yourselves. Suggest no more than 2 people visit, due to the small studio bathroom area. We stayed for 2 weeks, and will definitely book again if we plan to be in the area. Loved the many types of birds, the deer, turkeys, and the friendly anoles. Owners made us feel very welcome, and provided some nice amenities that other places haven't. Kudos!

Photographers dream spot
We fell in love with the place when we saw the advertisement on VRBO. We fell in love again when we arrived. This slice of paradise is everything we could hope for. Beautiful quiet and comfortable to stay at. Theresa and Hal were so helpful with getting us settled in and help quickly if we needed anything. As an amateur wildlife, raptor, and bird photographer it was a dream destination.. We decided on our first day of our stay that we definitely would return. Thank you for an enjoyable visit

Two Weeks in Paradise
This was our second January visit to Hal and Theresa's slice of paradise on the St. Johns River. They are the most wonderful hosts. The location is absolutely beautiful and so relaxing. There is much to see and do if you choose but our favorite activity is watching the river and wildlife from the dock. The rental is super clean and stocked with everything you need. We cooked a few crock pot meals and used the stove top and toaster/countertop oven. There are many little restaurants and bars in the area to get a bite too. Hal and Theresa always have excellent recommendations and they quickly respond to any questions and any issues. We hope to come back next year!

Our FL Happy Place
This is the second time we’ve stayed here and we love it! We’re close to our friends and the view from the dock is breathtaking. The hosts are wonderful to work with and kept us up to date after the hurricane passed through. I’d highly recommend it.

Heaven on earth!
If you like peace and tranquility and downright amazing hosts, this is the place for you. Our second trip here and definitely not our last. Theresa and Hal go out of their way to make your visit perfect. Bring your clothes, boat and fishing gear and you are good to go. If fishing is not your thing, sit on the dock after a day visiting the State and National Forests or Springs in the area, and enjoy the BEST sunsets! You won't regret it I promise.

Wonderful cottage on the St. John's River in Florida
Very private, clean cottage on beautiful property. Amenities were exceptional! Private dock for our boat. Owners Hal and Theresa were on the property for a couple days at their bungalo and were wonderful, friendly and kind hosts. Amazing sunsets! Had a fantastic time. A++

Little slice of paradise!
I borrowed the title from the Hal and Theresa’s welcoming note. After our first sunset on the dock we concur! There is much to explore in the area with trails and forest and local restaurants and watering holes. Our favorite activity during our 9 days was relaxing on the dock, watching the wildlife and enjoying the ever changing view of the river. The rental is spotlessly clean and had everything we needed! Hal and Theresa are amazing hosts and such nice people! They provided great information about the area activities and restaurants and made us feel very comfortable. Thank you Hal and Theresa for sharing your slice of paradise❤️We plan to return!

St. Johns River Retreat
Spot on for fishing the St. Johns River. The area is rural and beautiful, abundant with wild game: deer, turkey, and sand hill cranes. The cottage was clean and very comfortable. The hosts Hal and Theresa were kind, considerate, and helpful. I am going back in April for the fishing and the excellent restaurants

Fantastic!
The listing says "a slice of paradise" and they are 100% accurate. Great Couples getaway, even better if you enjoy boating/fishing. If you like peace and quiet and nature...this is the place to go. Deer, turkeys, hawks, gators, fishing...so relaxing. Hosts are fantastic people and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Hosts have great recommendations for local food, drink, things to do, etc.. Unforgettable! We'll be back for sure! Thanks H and T!

Beautiful property
Theresa and Hal are very nice people and it was a pleasure staying there on their property. The accommodations and items included were more than we expected. The unit was super clean and all the numerous items (free of charge) they included were bagged and tagged. The attention to detail Theresa gives to everything in the unit gives you a great welcoming feeling as soon as you walk in. I'm very hot natured person and it was in the 90's but Hal told me to turn the air to where I was comfortable, I left it on the lowest setting possible and our unit was ice cold everyday when we would come home in the evenings he happily accommodated every request I had they truly made us feel a home and we will definitely be back.

Beautiful Property, Incredible Hosts!
Theresa and Hal were the nicest folks we have ever dealt with during our many experiences staying at VRBO properties. The property was very nice (even prettier than the pictures) and the amount of thought that went into making the stay warm and inviting was exceptional (everything organized, great documentation, Keurig coffee and breakfast snacks, a bottle of bubbly). Felt like we were staying with friends rather than VRBO. Couldn't recommend this property enough!

Very quiet and relaxing.
Great experience, great location. All as described. I would add 1 thought. Only go with someone you don't mind there being no privacy (in the unit )with. No walls. Bathroom not meant for plus size womenor exlarge men. It was a squeeze. Greatly enjoyed All the hawk and Turkey friends that joined us outside!. Awesome dock too. Eat at Renegades! You will not be sorry!!

Anniversary fishing trip
What can I say! If you are looking for a peaceful, private perfect location, this is it. From the time you walk in the door you will see how much thought went into setting this haven up. Everything sterilized and placed in plastic bags. Breakfast foods next to coffee maker and coffee. Bath supplies, extra towels, outside towels. There is a shower inside but if you're a bubble bath kind of person there is an awesome claw foot tub/shower in an outside spa type building where you can relax in privacy and enjoy the river. Knowing it was our anniversary, the hosts, Theresa and Hal, had a bottle of wine, chocolates, cookies and a sweet card waiting on the counter for us. We caught tons of fish and spent eight days cruising the river and lakes. We put in a short ride down the road on the first day and after that we just had to walk out a well lit walkway to the dock and go! Or just fish from the dock if you prefer. Amazing sunsets! We have never felt so relaxed at any place we have stayed. Hated to leave. Theresa and Hal bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely spend our next anniversary here!

Perfect!
Truly a blessing to find this gem. Nestled among the gorgeous cypress trees along the river, we enjoyed every minute of our getaway. Hal and Theresa were excellent hosts, and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We now have a lifelong memory and some new friends.
