The Neighborhood:

The Plaza at Woodcreek sits at the base area of Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Mt Crested Butte, Colorado — the ski village perched at 9,375 ft. The Red Lady Express and Silver Queen chairlifts are a 4-minute walk, putting ski school, rentals, and apres-ski bars at your doorstep. The on-site Iron Horse Tap Restaurant & Bar means your first post-ski drink is steps away.



The free Mountain Express shuttle stops at the building every 15 minutes (early morning to late evening, winter season) and runs 3 miles south to historic downtown Crested Butte — a 10-minute ride. Elk Avenue is lined with independent restaurants (Secret Stash Pizza, Soupçon, The Dogwood), bars, galleries, and the Center for the Arts.



Summer transforms the Upper East River Valley into one of Colorado's top mountain-biking and hiking destinations. Crested Butte is the state's designated Wildflower Capital — the Wildflower Festival runs every July. Key distances: Snodgrass trailhead (3-min drive), Gothic Road wildflower corridor (10-min drive), Lake Irwin (25-min drive, summer), Kebler Pass aspens (30-min drive, fall).



Getting Around:

A car is not required for the ski week — the Red Lady Express and Silver Queen lifts are a 4-minute walk, and base-area restaurants, ski school, and rentals are within walking distance. Covered parking for 2 vehicles comes with the unit if you do drive.



The free Mountain Express town shuttle stops at the Plaza at Woodcreek every 15 minutes during winter (early morning to late evening) and covers the 3-mile run to downtown Crested Butte in about 10 minutes. In summer and shoulder seasons, the RTA Bus connects Mt Crested Butte, Crested Butte, and Gunnison on a similar schedule.



Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) is a 40-minute drive (28 miles) with direct seasonal service from DFW, IAH, and LAX. Denver International Airport (DEN) is approximately a 4-hour drive (230 miles) via US-285 and CO-135. Rideshare availability in Gunnison County is limited — a rental car or shuttle is recommended if flying into DEN.
