“My wife and I were celebrating our first anniversary and chose this place. It was so awesome! Our host set out a romantic table setting with wine and a welcoming loaf of bread and jam. “This makes the third time we have stayed here since last August…and we already have a month long stay booked for this Fall. We’ve fallen in love with this property and it never disappoints. The scenery is beautiful, the cabin is fantastic, and Ray (the owner) is incredibly responsive and helpful. Definitely our favorite place to stay and well worth the trip from Texas!”

“If you’re looking for a vacation to take you out of the rat race and just clear your mind. This cozy cabin is the place to go. It is 30 minutes from the main highway so plan accordingly with food and such, but once you’re there, there is no reason to leave. Great experience and the host was very informative. Looking forward to next time.”

“This is the second time we have stayed here and once again, it was great. This property very well appointed and well maintained. It is a short walk to Main St. La Veta, which is very nice. Sitting on the deck in the afternoon, with the sun and the Cuchara River is very relaxing. It is a great choice!”

“we stayed on this property in July 2023. We had two couples and one individual. This property was cramped and not clean, and also very dark downstairs. The beds t downstairs were very uncomfortable. Bathroom downstairs very small. The cook wear was very old. I actually found mouse droppings in the crockpot that I was hoping to use. Mouse traps several places. Towels very old and raggedy. The upstairs was roomy, comfy bed, but had issues with the toilet flushing and no towels supplied up there....

“We spent our time at Cuchara Park and this home was the perfect location for us. The Host goes above and beyond here. I highly recommend this place - I will still hear next time we come through La Veta. The house has everything you need! Perfect for a man like me who loves chopping wood and having fires. The inside had a big kitchen for the wives. The rooms have tons of board games for the kids. You will love this place; I know we did.”
