“Otroligt trevlig personal och jätte fin omgivning och fräscht hotell. Vi bodde i ett dubbelrum med japanskstil och det var toppen! Maten var bra, provade 2 st restauranger som fanns på hotellet (1 klassisk kinesisk och 1 lite mer västerländsk) och båda var bra. Frukosten var inte toppen - fanns väldigt mycket att välja på vilket är bra, men som svensk så fanns det inte jätte mycket som föll mig i smaken, men väldigt fräscht!”
“We were not expecting this place to be as great as it is. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurants were unexpectedly good with great food and views of the mountain. The onsen was a great experience. Just be prepared to have your Western views about nudity challenged (the onsen is nude only. No bathing suits allowed). Just one thing, the staff will tell you the in-suite onsen takes 20-ish minutes to cool down to a temperature that won't scald you. It was closer to an hour. ”
“The best hotel we've been to for years. The public hotspring and the in-room onsen had everything you need. Complimentary face masks, drinks and snacks in the room. They restock every day. The magnolia products made everything smell soooo good.The interior decor was fantastatic. Happy hour with free alcoholic drinks and snacks. This is the best hotel if you want to visit the Thermal Valley and everything nearby. 2 min walk from Xinbeitou MRT, just look uphill at your left at the exit.”
“A simple hotel that has what we needed. A good variety of breakfast, for both Western and Asian pallets. We were very pleased with the fact that they have parking in the garage, on a first come, first served basis. When we first arrived, by car, there was only one spot left but it was too tight. The guy in the reception then ran down and moved some scooters to make more room. That's great service. My only complaint is that I would have preferred a proper door to the bathroom.”

"The hotel is truly a majestic and beautiful building (although dated) and well worth visiting. Be aware of that it is a tourist attraction and can be very crowded and noisy in the lobby. During our trip (weekend), an army of young girls in princess dresses wrecked havoc in the lobby. It was less than ideal for enjoying a romantic treat in the lobby cafe and the staff were very busy. Not much time for giving us service or attention, which caused an initially disappointed impression. I would say that the lobby cafe is overpriced in regards to the level of service and mediocre quality of food & drink. The interior design is beautiful and we appreciated the white tablecloth and all, but the noisy stressful environment was a let down. We asked a waitress if there was some special event but she said that it's always like that. Seems like kids and tour busses full of backwater mainland Chinese villagers from all over arrive and spend some time in the facility. Forget any notion of dresscode and expect cheap behaviour like blasting cell phone speaker noise in public..
We had dinner in the golden dragon restaurant. A quite nice experience with a good view of downtown Taipei. The service style was a bit different from western restaurants. If you wanted to order, you really had to grab the attention of the staff. Very good food!
I don't recommend the breakfast. A lot of choices, but most of it low quality."
"The beds and linen are great! Staff know enough English to communicate. Breakfast good if you like food style, not to much if you like European style, but always something’s to eat. The rooms looks clean but very dusty while retrieving some things toddle threw under bed. Tape in bathroom to hold one piece of tiles in place. The rooms are NOT soundproof, not even a little - this was the biggest disappointment while staying 12 nights. We are bound to head back to Taipei in end July and might consider booking the same hotel again. "

"Jag valde detta hotell då det är i Japans stil med onsen. Hotellet är bra men inte lika bra som jag väntat mig. Frukosten är inte japansk utan taiwanesisk och italiensk (väldigt goda pizzabitar) men det största problemet med frukosten (som är dyr) är att akustiken var förfärlig- det var otroligt bullrigt och skrikigt och dessutom ganska hög musik - för mig som är morgontrött och ljuskänslig var det ingen bra upplevelse. Onsen var ganska litet, en bassäng men helt ok. Rummet var stort och rymligt, sängen skön, bra service. "
