The service has improved in many ways compared to previous reviews. Many of the front desk staff were able to communicate in English, and those who could not speak English well tried to communicate using a translation app on their smartphones.

âNice location with the beautiful bamboo park and the zoo just across the road. The 40 sqm room felt spacious and the staff was helpful and friendly, the room was nicely cleaned. The hotel is named New Century but really it feels like stepping into the previous century, it's time to refurbish the rooms. The lobby looks nice though. From time to time there was smell of smoking in the room, not terrible but not very pleasent either. Unsure where it came from.

âWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were in Beijing for a 10 days family vacation. I took a chance and booked us a location that was off the touristy spot where all the big hotels were - so glad I did - VUE is a hidden gem. We took to walking around the Hutong neighborhoods right away, my father loved his morning walks in Houhai Park which was right behind the hotel. âit is a little hard to find, and deep inside the residential area, but it is a real Beijing experience with all the local food places just steps away! Also the staffs are very friendly, they even followed up with us to make sure we didn't leave anything unintentionally after checking out. â
