The condo smelled like fish when I walked in there was a big bug catcher on the kitchen counter I was harassed by staff two days in a row for non payment I paid in full in January for a November trip. Half the living room electric didn’t work and that included the tv found the fuse box in kitchen behind a mirror After I spent 30 mins searching Had to throw the breaker two days in a row Condo was very very out dated and the kitchen was lacking in utilities and dishes The toilets did not flush well at all had to old the handle down for a long time Needless to say I’ll book at a different location next trip and with a different management company

Good: The pool. Bad: Many----- - The electronic lock on the door was very old and didn't always work when the buttons were pushed. We got locked out because the code gets entered wrong when the buttons didn't register. I called property support and got a new code that didn't work also. We had to wait about 45 minutes for someone to show up with a physical key. - The bedrooms are very small. The primary bedroom has a dresser in front of the bed and there is only about 9 inches of space to wiggle through to get to the other side of the bed. The bed in the second bedroom is like small daybed and doesn't sleep an adult very well. - The fan in the primary bedroom did not work. - The dishwasher drain got clogged somehow when we ran it and it leaked a lot of soapy water all over the kitchen floor. - The patio furniture was pretty old and dilapidated and missing some hardware.

We stayed here in the past and enjoyed it. The lack of communication of the 8 am construction, and the multiple fire alarms was a big inconvenience. Not saying I won’t be back, just wish I knew about it beforehand. The noise was so bad, we couldn’t stay in the condo most of the time we were there the whole time.

Overall fine- no frills, just the basics

Overall a decent room- we had the basics, but dishwasher leaked, no beach towels, not enough hooks, and terrible pillows. The dishes were a weird mixture, with odd utensils- no pizza cutter but 2 blenders and 2 electric can openers. Pans for cooking & knife options were very mismatched also. The property amenties were what makes this place- pools, grills, lounge chairs, beach access, all amazing! Just the unit itself needs an upgrade.

I highly recommend this property. It’s quiet, safe, and conveniently located near everything, which is especially helpful when traveling with children. If I return next year, I would definitely choose this property again.

This was our first time in Destin and our expectations of Sterling Shores was absolutely met. The building was kept (even during renovations), our condo was immaculate, the pool was clean and everything was exactly as it was advertised. Communication from Vacasa was excellent and they answered my questions via text in a prompt manner. We would definitely like to come back and even make this an annual vacation destination!

Very clean and unit was ready on time for check in. The furniture and decor were outdated. The only issue I had (which I did not report bc it really was not too serious) was that the utensil bin only had 4 forks, 4 large spoons and 4 tiny spoons. We are a family of 5

We enjoyed our trip. The condo was very clean. However, the owner didn't put alot into decorating to give you that welcome or home feeling. In one of the bedrooms, the chester drawers was broken and the paint on the nightstand was peeling. Not enough seating in the living room for comfort and the dining room table and chairs were not comfortable.

Our stay was overall pleasant. The weather was beautiful, and the beach itself was stunning—with crystal-clear, turquoise-tinted waters and warm, white sand that felt like a dream. Our room was clean and well-stocked with towels and amenities. We appreciated the entertainment options, including games, reliable WiFi, and unlimited streaming TV—perfect for unwinding after a day in the sun. However, I can’t give a full 5-star rating due to a few concerns. First, the room lacked curtains, which impacted our privacy. It was also smaller than expected, and the large mirrors, while stylish, created an illusion of more space than there actually was. It’s also important to note that the condo is not directly on the beach. To access it, you must walk past the pool, through multiple gates (including crossing a street), which can be a burden—especially when carrying beach gear. Because of this, I wouldn’t recommend Sterling Shores for elderly guests or those with mobility or health concerns, as the trek to and from the beach can be tiring and take away from the overall enjoyment. Additionally, the umbrella and chair rentals were overpriced. More troubling, though, was the behavior of some guests. We encountered several individuals who were rude, and at times, made inappropriate and racially insensitive remarks. These encounters cast a shadow over what should have been a fun, welcoming beach environment. Despite these issues, I still love Destin, FL, and would happily return.
