The fact that twoChairs were included was also nice, but you had to wake up early to ensure you got them especially ones that weren’t four rows back. The kitchen was outdated. The master bathroom had a sliding door to close to get in the shower, that was very difficult to move as well as the pantry closet being difficult to open. The beach view was nice and front desk staff was friendly.

Perfect for our family getaway!

We had an amazing time! The condo was fully equipped with everything we needed! The bed wasnt too comfortable, but beyond that we had a great time! We even found a little hermit crab in the condo. Looks like the family before us must've bought it and it got out. Well it re-emerged and now we have a new pet named Pete.

Destin Family Vacation

The Islander resort was very clean, quiet and had a lot of great accommodations; specifically the linen exchanges, along with 2 beach chairs and an umbrella set up for you daily at the beach. The condo was clean and it's a very short walk to the beach. The kitchen is a little dated but it had everything we needed to cook with for the week. The only complaint we had is that both toilets would continuously run. We had to constantly fix the handle/stopper to make them stop running. They both should be fixed before the unit is rented again. Overall, we would recommend this condo and the Islander resort.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love the islander and have always stayed in beautiful condos, we love the 7th floor on the east side. This condo however has a rug that is so dirty, the white parts/patterns are grey. You can tell it’s from filth because the parts under the couch are still white, also the cushions on the dining room chairs are filthy. For that much money for a weeks vacation, the owners should be able to afford a new rug & dining chairs.

Also the couch is very uncomfortable do to the sleeper sofa. The Islander as a whole has great service and staff is very friendly and helpful. The scheduling system could use some help. Pool is great! Our 4th year and we hope to make it 5!! We’ll be back!

Honeymoon stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We got married at the jetty east next door and decided to move over to the Islander for an ocean view. Everything was very nice. The two things I can say that could use improvement are1: the couches. They are very very stained and uncomfortable to sit on. We didn’t use them often, but that’s part of the reason why.2: the master bed. It is EXTREMELY hard and uncomfortable. I can sleep anywhere, but this bed had us tossing and turning all night. All in all, it was a gray stay!

Glorious Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was my first time at the Islander Resort. It was wonderful. Location to restaurants, grocery stores, and souvenir stores. The towel service is such a great idea. I was a little concerned not having a washer and dryer in my unit I had never stayed in a condo that didn’t have them. Definitely loved that I didn’t have to spend my vacation washing beach towels and bath towels. Saved me a lot of money of time. I also loved that the supply beach towels. I fly and I don’t have much room for them. The pools were both great! The flat walk to the beach was short. Loved that I didn’t have to do steps if I didn’t want to. The ramp is nice for wagons and coolers. The unit 703 was very nice and well decorated. My view of the gulf was amazing. The unit was clean and well stocked with anything I could need. It was very clean. I loved that all units come with an umbrella and 2 chairs. Definitely will be coming back and staying on the East side again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the view we had & felt like the beach attendant - Allen was extremely warm & concerned about our visit. The handyman was very kind & engaging. We also appreciated the young women in laundry room, she was kind, upbeat & helpful. We would encourage you to move her to the front desk. The front desk responded to what they were asked but did not seem warm or glad we were there. We did have several issues with the unit. Both toilets needed the stopper replaced, when flushed they kept running - it seemed to take a few days to get those replaced. We had an issue with large brown bugs. My wife fell when trying to catch/kill bugs and ended up in the ER. It took a few days but the bug person came in & sprayed, we killed both of the large bugs we saw. Our stay was nearly 3 weeks we were near the east garbage drop, it was to be repaired, never worked during our stay, so we had to walk from the far end of the East to the far end of the west to dispose of garbage. This was our first trip back to the Islander since the mid 90’s, we stayed there about 2 weeks a year from mid 80’s to mid 90’s. We were excited about our stay since we had so many memories. It seems like the building had been used hard and needed some general updating to keep it fresh & appealing.

What a view!

FANTASTIC View of the water, Location and Amenitites! Check-in / Check-out was very easy. They don't miss a beat. The beach is very close and they have chairs/umberella ready for you to use. Front desk staff (Alex/Betsy) were so very helpful. Great property, can't wait to go back. The condo is 4 stars for cleanliness (could have been cleaner) the propery is 5 stars, they were constantly cleaning public areas.

Reviewer Comments: I have rented from the islander for years and use to love it but I think it might be time to go to another condo site as much I love the location the unnecessary stress I can do without the ac was not working good enough to cool master sweet the bed was hard as a rock the couch had crumbs of food left on it the new staff was very rude Andrea is always so sweet she is one of the reasons we have rented here but the younger staff members are very rude .I know you can't control what guest wear but we actually left the pool because a young lady was wearing a g-string bottom and wore a Tom to barely covered her nipples not what we want to see in the pool you could see her ..... and that was uncomfortable with that being said I hope I have a change of heart cause I have loved it here in the past but the last 2 stays have been a waste of money for such a beautiful resort

They tried to fix it then they forgot to reset the circuit breaker. They only comped us for 1 night. We were without AC for 2 nights and 1 day. It’s was 80 degrees in the room.

This one one nice, and we had a great stay, but it could be updated a bit. Little things like the old shelves in the cabinets and rust in the fridge could be fixed.

Reviewer Comments: We have been staying in the islander every time for the past 7 years we come. Never had a problem or have had any complaints. This year in this unit was a little disappointing. It was really dusty and the couches are stained bad. Its time for new couches or get the stains removed. The sheets in the futon were not changed and dirty. The dishes also had stains like they were never washed and just put away.
