House was very well stocked with beach items including coolers, chairs, umbrellas, toys, etc. The house is beautiful and very conveniently located near the hwy for easy access out of the community.

needs updated and a good cleaning

Beautiful neighborhood, lovely streets, but inside was very disappointing. Torn screens on birdcage let lots of leaves in the pool. Couch and chairs were very worn and spotted. Looked to me the that whole house needs several updates and deep cleaning. Nice golf cart and bikes. Ice maker was great in the garage.

Great location

The house was in a gated area and location was perfect. Great places to eat nearby, just a golf cart ride away. The golf cart and bicycles came in very handy. The pool was awesome. The house was laid out nicely and was clean. The only faults I would say is that the house needs some long over due updates and the front bedroom doesn’t get cool. The outdoor space also need some updating.

Annual Florida Trip

We normally stay in a condominium but this was the first time staying in a home. The home is in a great neighborhood and within golf cart or driving distance to the beach. The home was spacious, clean and had all the amenities needed for a five day trip. The owners golf cart was out of commission so we were able to have a 6 seater which was a nice touch. Management was friendly and check in very easy. Each couple had their own bathroom which was also a plus. Our only call out was the sliding glass door would stick and the child alarm would trigger quickly. I think it’s just from over use. Overall I’d recommend this home for couples or a small group of friends!

Had a great week but a little disappointing.

The check in process was easy and property manager got back to us quickly. But when we first arrived the pool was filthy, there was dirt all over the bottom and hair with hair ties wrapped around the ladder. The water was cloudy and we were not able to swim in it. We did contact the property manager and the next day the pool guy came and it was much better for the rest of the week. The sinks were not draining well in the bathrooms only to discover hair clogging the drains. There was water leaking between the kitchen and the laundry pantry/laundry room area which never resolved. But Destin is a beautiful area and the gated community was nice so in that regard it was a good week. The golf cart was not well maintained and filthy when we got there so we had to clean it before using. After the pool was clean it did make the stay much more enjoyable but the house was not as clean as we had hoped.

Great for families

House was very clean and very spacious! HOA is very ruthless and will give you a ticket for just about anything they don’t like. 1/4 of my back tire was touching the grass and got a $50 ticket so just be careful.

Nice roomy living area, clean, very nice kitchen which is well stocked with dishes/cooking utensils/appliances; pool is small and close to highway but nice place to cool off. Nice neighborhood. There is no private beach access; golf cart is provided for about a 5 minute ride to public beaches which are quite crowded in summer and parking can be difficult if you don't go early. Strict 4 pm check-in on our check-in day.

Wonderful place

This experience was fantastic. It was our first time visiting Destin but it will not be our last. The property was well furnished and well maintained. Checking in was a breeze also. We thoroughly enjoyed and would happily stay here again in the future.

Wonderful stay!

We definitely enjoyed this house. Awesome to have all the things you need for the beach, management was great to work with and responded to anything we needed. We could not keep the pool clean due to open areas in the screens, a few tile to carpet transitions that were sharp, and would have been nice to have some olive oil or cooking spray or spices to use to cook with- but other then minor details we would absolutely stay here again. House is beautiful and neighborhood is so quiet and friendly

Great location - Property could use some fixes

For the pros, the check in process was a breeze. Very responsive management. Master and guest rooms were clean and kitchen had sufficient utensils etc. for cooking. Location of the property was great as well. Literally few mins away from James Lee beach. We enjoyed the club house, play park, and tennis courts. The house had a lot of extras like tennis rackets, beach stuff etc. On the cons, the pool was not clean when we arrived. Pool flooring had couple of broken/chipped off areas that could be a hazard to kids jumping in. The covered net above and around the pool was torn at couple of places and we had lizards come in. Outdoor furniture needs new cushions as well. The guest bathroom ceilings had a lot of black damp spots (not sure what). The door to the pool area was almost broke and wouldn’t slide easy. We had to quit using the handle as we were afraid it would break. The golf cart is pretty beaten up as well. It’s break definitely needs immediate replacement. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the proximity to beach and clubhouse but unfortunately the house could definitely use some fixes and upgrades.

Girlfriends Retreat

The home is beautiful and in a great location; However, some TLC is needed for the patio furniture (need to replace all outdoor furniture) as well as cleaning of the furniture and accessories in the home (sofas, chairs, dining room chairs, bathroom rugs, etc) My suggestion is to replace all furniture with leather or scotch guard protection. Overall stay was enjoyable 😌

Amazing house!

Amazing and very clean house! Garage was filled with more than enough chairs, beach toys, and ice chests. Golf cart was amazing and really nice to have on trips to the beach and around Destin. Only downfalls are it being a pretty far walk to the beach, but the golf cart makes up for that, and the back door child proof alarms going off every time the door is opened. Overall amazing stay and amazing house. Would definitely rent again!

Graduation trip for our oldest daughter.

This house is amazingly stocked, especially if you have small kids. We were quite impressed. Everyone enjoyed the pool area and golf cart rides. The beds are very comfortable and there was plenty of room for the 8 of us. The neighborhood is very nice and getting back and forth to the beach is easy. A shout out to The Crab Trap for lunch and Brusters for ice cream. A couple of small issues that I wish were addressed before we got here though. The previous review stated the ice makers didn’t work and the grill needed attention. That is still the case. I emailed about the ice maker and was told they were working. They aren’t. Do NOT try and use the grill. It needs replaced. After several attempts to get it to light, it did in a large fireball. Then only the back quarter of the grill has flames. I shut it down and found that the burners are completely corroded. These aren’t huge deals, but when paying this kind of money for the week, one would hope they would be addressed. I did let the property manager know through the app. Although I stated there was no need to come out and fix right away, I was surprised to hear nothing from them the whole week. All in all we had a blast enjoyed our stay.

Review of Destin Palms

We enjoyed the stay at Destin Palms but would have appreciated more flexibility with the thermostat. In the middle of August, the temperature may need to be lowered in the house and we needed it cooler with the number of guests in the house for that time of the year. Thank you.
