“The house is, technically, as described but there are a few design issues that made it hard to use. The ladder, which is needed to access the loft, blocks the bathroom door. So if you have it in place for climbing, it has to be moved to open the loo door, then moved back to climb back up again. We have stayed in tiny houses before and found them easier to maneuver around. Which would be fine but at this price it should be somewhat more comfy. Caveat Emptor”

“What a beautiful place to stay, right on the water with all amenities to enjoy your stay. Comfortable furniture and beds, the fireplace is beautiful as is the screen room. Kitchen was wonderful to cook in!Owners are so friendly as are their pups!We are already planning a return visitThanks so much!”

“Southside Harbour Vacations Apartment was a lovely little gem along the Antigonish Harbour. We loved the apartment! It’s a spacious layout with beautiful decor. It was meticulously clean. John and Kathryn were very friendly hosts, they shared lots of information about the area’s highlights and accommodated us with kayaks and a lobster steamer. The host was available for any questions - thank you so much John and Kathryn -PS-it was a pleasure to meet your children- ”

“Last minute booking due to NS forested park trails being closed due to wildfire risks…what a great pivot! Beautiful house, well stocked with great hosts. Lots of stairs if that is a concern. ”

“It was just as we expected and what we wanted—-a quiet remote place—-with more birds than people! We were so lucky with the weather too….water out front and a lovely breeze most of the time. We brought food in and enjoyed fresh fish and relaxing times. We slept well with nearly all the windows open for the night air. The tide came in and we kayaked a little out front. “Very comfortable. Jon and Marcie are great - very responsive. There is plenty of in-house entertainment for bad weather days and our dogs give it a 5-star review as well.”

“My family and I stayed in this beautiful home. Such a nice neighborhood, property was clean and well cared for, and the home was accommodating, clean and all around great. The family loved the ping pong table as well. Wish we took more photos of our stay at the vacation home. ”

You can tell the owners put a lot thought into the layout to get the best views of ocean and land. “Our cabin was a pleasant surprise! The ammenties and view were the very best. The owner made our stay easy and relaxing as we had a common ground (Calgary) and the love of nature. I would definitely recommend this property as a go to for a stay.”
