Despite the extra time they had to prepare, check-in was still delayed the next day, and the host was completely unresponsive to our messages. “Bill and Paula and the whole community were amazingly kind. This was a rustic and genuine experience to be immersed into a warm Fijian community. We should have realized some of the limitations that we would face, (no a/c, limited power supply, steep steps to the main house for meals, etc) traveling with my elderly mother before we booked this, but everyone was kind, thoughtful and welcoming. “For the price paid, the apartment was not ready for us to check in and we spent over an hour waiting for the cleaner to finish. The cleanliness wasn’t great either. There were no washing liquid and kitchen towels. The pillows and beddings looked like they were not washed either. The floors weren’t mopped as we could still see dirt on the tiles. ”
