“Massive thank you to Gilles and his wife for an amazing stay at this property. The photos, whilst accurate, do not do the house justice. It is truly amazing (and huge). We stayed for 2 weeks. Location is perfect, right in the heart of Saumur. Check in was easy and it was lovely to be met at the property and shown around, even when we were much later arriving than anticipated. “Absolutely spectacular. We really enjoyed our time at Chateau de Candes. Bertrand and Sam went out of their way to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. Running this place is not easy but the family are doing their absolute best as custodians. They are fully dedicated and committed to making Chateau de Candes a success. Merci Bertrand et Sam. We will definitely be back.”

“The staff were nice! But we had to pay 20 euros for sheets and towels as they were not included with the room. This was not stated until after the booking was made. Also the beds were basically just sofas, not very comfortable. Cheap just for a night to sleep but I would not stay there for more than a night.”

“Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille . Nous avons bien profité du jardin, de la piscine, de la maison . Merci à nos hôtes qui sont adorables, très à l'écoute . Bien que leur maison soit mitoyenne ils sont très discrets, ce qui est assez rare.Un très joli séjour ! Nous reviendrons sans aucun doute!”

“After seeing mixed reviews I had been concerned but for the price we paid this place is amazing. We were lucky to have been upgraded to a 2 bedroom apt, which I would book first time if we came again as see that the one bed would be small for 4. It had everything we needed (except a fan) Like everyone else who stayed whilst the weather was around 35 degrees, we struggled with the heat and no air con, had to sleep with the bedroom door open (we had a ground floor apartment but it felt safe).
