“The property is absolutely stunning! There is wildlife galore on the property and you feel like you’re in the middle of the rainforest. We had perfect weather and it was a little cooler but, if it wasn’t, the lack of air conditioning may have been rough! Love love loved this place and so did the whole group. 10/10 would recommend.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Castillo. The terrace had an amazing view of Arenal volcano, and we saw so many birds in the backyard. It was amazing to have coffee in morning and watch clouds roll through valley and listen to birdsong. “The photos do not do the house justice. On arrival the house was clean and had all of the necessary kitchen and bathroom essentials. Each room had an individual bathroom with shower that had good pressure. The view of the arenal volcano was breath taking and the pool was a perfect way to stay cool down in the heat. “The owners were lovely and gave us a free upgrade to a 2 bedroom cabin which was ideal for us with 2 young children. It had a well equipt kitchen. We did have a few ants coming in but when we told the owner they came down to spray the cabin. Great having a pool at the property for unwinding after a busy day in nature. The town was a 5 minute drive and it was really easy and cheap to get taxis there. Would definitely recommend staying here.”

“Overall we loved staying here. There was just enough room for our group of 10 (7 adults and 3 kids aged 4-17). The views of the lake and the volcano are absolutely breathtaking, and the house is situated on a beautiful property surrounded by jungle, so we saw lots of birds right off the porch. “On the property lives 2 roosters which are very loud (and beautifull). And you have to feed them otherwise they will scream non stop. They start to beg for food around 4 am. Plus there is no hot water in sinks which makes living very uncomfortable (no dishwasher as well). If you want to have a nice shower - forget about it! Showers have electrical warmers and you have to use small water presser to make it work. We got no hot water in both bathrooms when we arrived. Later shower was fixed in...
