“My wife, our dog and I had an excellent stay at the Checkerboard guest house in Cobourg. The beds were comfortable, the house was clean and as advertised, and was only about 2km from downtown. Our host, Tish, was easily available and responsive to our requests. We needed a pet friendly place, and this fit the bill perfectly!”

“This is one of the nicest, if not THE nicest places I’ve ever stayed in. The place is gorgeous-beautifully appointed and furnished. I appreciated the excellent kitchen facilities too. “Positives: The cottage was very nice and spacious, it can easily fit 12 people. The Hot Tub and Sauna were are pretty good. We really liked the open space and large dining table. Other:1. Unsafe Access Due to Snow and IceUpon arrival, the cottage and stairs were completely covered in snow, making access unsafe. I reported this immediately. The host initially stated someone would come to clear the snow the next day. However, when I followed up, the host reversed this and stated no one would come...
