“Loved the convenient carpark porch and the spacious, comfortable room and living area. The toilet basin was very tiny, so we ended up using the laundry basin instead — thank you for the complimentary laundry facilities. It would be great to have a dustbin in the toilet for added convenience.”

“Sweet jumping off point for all the region has to offer, lakes mountains and culture. Kids loved relaxing in the outdoor bath watching the stars:-) ”

“Lovely small holiday home on the edge of town. Super quiet area. Perfect for a couple or small family. Huuuuge fenced grassy area, for the dog to run around in safety, looking northwards down onto the Fraser river with gorgeous autumn colours. Really good woodburner and all mod cons, Wifi excellent, comfy bed, with lots of blankets and duvets, powerful shower with endless hot water. Second stay here in 6 months and will be back- endless outdoor things to do in the Twizel area. ”

“Three families (12 in total) stayed over the school hplidays. Such a great space for all of us, plenty of games for the kids, the three bathrooms are a great help with a large group, warm with the fire and heat pumps. Lots to explore in the local region. Checkin and out process was super easy and great comms from the hosts. We had a fabulous stay, thanks very much!”

“I have already recommended this place to family/friends. It was incredibly comfortable, the views were awe inspiring (fairly sure you can see Mt Cook on a clear day). It had all the supplies you need. And the hosts checked in and were very responsive. Just the best place to stay in the area! Some pots weren’t clean, but I think that happens when other guests do a quick wash and put the pots back in the cabinet. It didn’t takeaway from how lovely the place is.”

“Wonderful house in Twizel. Clean, spacious, in a quiet neighborhood. Bit far to walk to town center, but just a 2-3 minute drive. Only downside was they told us after making the reservation that there were no toiletries (e.g. shower wash & shampoo). Internet password was out of date but they were very responsive in providing updated info so not a big deal.”

“Plenty of room for our group, and nice outdoor areas.”

“We have booked several houses through book a bach and this one is by far our favorite. The house was lovely and also set up well for children. Communication from the host was prompt and helpful and the area was beautiful with ocean views and just a 10min walk from the biggest playground in NZ. We will be back and can definitely recommend this accommodation and host!”

“We enjoyed the quirkiness and originality of the cottage. It was a fun place to stay in and the updated bathroom features were well received.We would definitely stay there again, close to everything, very clean with everything anyone would need.”

Great visit

"Great hotel in the middle of town. We could sort out quite a few things before our flight. The lady at the reception was very kind and told us about the Penguin colony. The penguins wait for it to become dark before they come to the shore. We also got a good recommendation for a restaurant close to the penguin colony."
