“Had a lovely stay at Windsor cottage. Well presented, great amenities and the most comfortable bed in the master bedroom. Slept like a log! Ate out in local restaurants, which were lovely especially Alberto’s Italy. There are a couple of free parking areas in town 5-10 minutes away. During our stay there was a film set in place for Father Brown and a restriction at the end of the road. It didn’t take away from our stay, but was glad of the premier inn parking just a 100m away. Good stay but a bit pricy

"The room was great, no complaints there. The hotel in it self is beautiful. The man checking us in seem a bit uninterested though and they can’t make coffee for breakfast. It really tasted bad. Might have expected a little more with the price. "

Doesn’t live up to the hype

"Let’s start with the positive, beautiful location and convenience for exploring and love the history of the buildings. That history comes with downsides, rooms are very small, drains always blocked and the towel rail was burning hot the whole time. Our room was next to the kitchen so always noisy. The service was inconsistent (mostly bad) and the food was average to poor (called it a risotto but came out looking like week old sushi rice). Much potential but needs some TLC, staff training and leadership."
