“As a couple you should avoid Fridays and Saturdays. The noice level in the restaurant was more then average as there was many male golfers in the room. Loud and no respect for others. Nice staff, Big gym and pool but over crowded. Unfortunately the golf course was in worst condition with brown fairways and green looking like they did a paintover with green colour. Staying Sunday to Monday was much calmer and enjoyable. ”

There was no on there to welcome us and they hadn’t sent us the door code so I had to phone twice before someone would pick up and then had to wait for the owner to arrive to let us in, not ideal after a long journey. We had a garden room - which had thread bare carpets with stains on, the most uncomfortable bed imaginable and it just felt dirty. I thought from the pictures this place looked ok, but I was very wrong...

“The King's Head, Usk is a great place to choose for a night or a longer stay in the area. I was very happy with it: the staff are unfailingly friendly, polite and helpful, the meals are excellent and of generous proportions and the rooms are very pleasant - very clean, comfortable bed and nice touches like a coffee machine which actually works well!
