My husband and I stayed at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Diamond by IHG in St. Vincent. The hotel was clean, modern, and comfortable, but our check-in experience was frustrating.
Our flight arrived early on October 30, so I changed our booking to start from October 29 instead. I also messaged the hotel the night before to let them know we’d arrive early the next morning. When we got there, the front desk said we couldn’t check in because we were too early and said my first night had been cancelled... and that I’d need to pay a cancellation fee. I explained several times that I didn’t cancel anything; I extended the booking so we could check in early.
After a while, the Front Desk Manager, Onika, stepped in, understood right away, and sorted it out... no fee, and we were finally able to check in. This took approximately 40-60 minutes.
Breakfast was okay. I appreciated the codfish on the first morning - a nice Caribbean touch, but the eggs tasted powdered, and the vegetarian options were pretty bland.
The property itself was nice and spotless, and I liked that they offered complimentary items like toothpaste and toothbrushes if you forgot yours. There’s also a restaurant and mini-mart across the street, which was really convenient.
Overall, a pleasant stay once we got past the check-in hassle.
