There are award-winning restaurants, traditional pubs, tea rooms, and a fish and chip shop. Exmoor House -- the headquarters of the Exmoor National Park Authority -- is in Dulverton and features exhibitions and a gallery.
The Guildhall Heritage and Arts Centre in Dulverton is well worth a visit, with free admission and fascinating exhibitions on local history including a working model of the original Dulverton railway station.
