Great stay at Hilton durban
Great hotel and services, we had a very nice stay in Durban, brekfast was also great! Only negative was hotel dinner, it was only buffet style available and the quality and choices could have been a lot better.

Trevligt mottagande, smidig incheckning, bra frukost med stort utbud. Rummet var relativt medelmåttigt men dock rymligt, fräscht och välstädat.

Rekomenderas
Trevligt hotell med bra personal. Området var väl lite tvivelaktigt eftersom de bad oss att ta taxi/hotellets bilar med chaufför när vi ville gå utanför hotellet då det inte avses "säkert" att gå i Durban. Inget vi märkte av dock. Ett minus var att man fick betala för WIFI. Stor variation vid frukostbuffén. Rent hotell.

Great gym!
Perfect location for ICC Durban, and a nice safe (daylight) walk to the beach. Had buffet dinner 4 nights, different theme every night. Nice staff, rooms are comfortable although not renovated for some time. The gym was excellent, very well equipped for a hotel gym!

Tyvärr har vi fått betala Hilton för hotellrum för att de säger sig inte fått betalt av er- vi var ej inbokade enligt Hilton. Dessutom hade vi räknat med att bli upphämtade av dem men fick istället ta en taxi för 100 Rand som i dessa trakter kan vara riskartat. Vänligen undersök och återkom för uppgörelse. Uno Gunnarsson

Med tanke på att rör sig om 5-stjärnig
Med tanke på att rör sig om 5-stjärnig hotell så hade jag inte förväntat mig mögel på badrumsväggen. Helt omöjligt att missa. Fick klaga två gånger att få det åtgärdat. I restaurangen fick vi notan utan att vi frågat efter det. Det var en timme innan de skulle stänga. Aldrig upplevt tidigare. Tänkte beställa mer men nu blev det inte så.

Great hotel, great location. Overall stay was good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would like complementary bottled water in room daily which was not provided. Great facilities and modern finishes.

Disappointed Hilton Stay
I was extremely disappointed with the overall service considering this hotel is rated as a 5-star hotel. It took 3 attempts to make telephonic contact with the reception desk when calling to enquire about the parking options. When I arrived at the hotel, the elevator to the lobby was out of service. The key card system was offline so had to be escorted to the room and the key delivered later. The furniture looked very poor and had water damage. There were stains on the curtain that looked like blood. Water was leaking from the ceiling that woke us which I reported and was promised that a service person would come to follow up which never materialized. I ordered a halaal meal for a specific time at breakfast as suggested by your hotel guide however when I got to the restaurant, there was no special catering waiting for me and my wife. I am sure that Hilton will just offer a standard response as usual and not make up for this poor experience.

Most of the staff was great pleasant friendly. Whatever I ate was great and tasty, however almost everyday they ran out of something or the appliance did not work and so on. Not really the standard of a Hilton hotel. You could not see the bottom of the pool as it was foggy. The windows dirty and by the pool a glass windshield was broken or missing and it is clear it has been missing for a long time. There were amenities displayed on the cctv which did not exist or work. The restaurant opening times changed without notice. there was no draft beer for 5 of the 9 days we were there. Clearly management lacks or funds do. But I still had a very good time. Initially when we got there we were assigned a room on the 1st floor but then the porter said no!! we need to get you a better room and he did. Interesting when we got to our room now on the 9th floor it seemed that some one was just there. There was a half drunken bottle of water in the room... funny things like that happened regularly.

Not family friendly.
We had to wait for for over 30min because our rooms were not available. We booked in as a family and the rooms were so far apart being a total risk for the kids. But the hotel itself is good. Just not children friendly.

Breakfast experience needs a notch up at this Hilton. Kids are not catered for... no coco pops, chocolate donuts. 'Models' need to hold the coffee flasks and serve coffee at your table.. instead of us guests walking to find it. Location of this hotel is at a good vantage point.
