âThe Tennyson Room (Room 5) was beautiful. The view was stunning, there were no irritations (wonky toilet seats, blown light bulbs, badly scratched paintwork etc.) at all. The receptionist was a great guy - good for a laugh and engaging. Breakfast excellent.
Believe me - we are coming back it was superb. I have no connections with this place at all. It was so much better than the top of the range place we stayed at in Anglesey 2 weeks ago and cost ÂŁ70 less.

âThe inn is ideally positioned between Ambleside and Windermere with views of the lake from the restaurant. We had a room without a view but it was quiet and very clean. The room had tea and coffee facilities as well as heating you could adjust yourself if needed. The beds were very comfortable and bathroom spotless. My only issue was the smoke alarm on the ceiling flashed throughout the night meaning the room lit up blue which was very annoying but Iâm unsure how you could stop this.

âRoom was a good size, upgraded from what we booked which was a nice surprise, we arrived early and checked if the room was ready which it was so again this was a bonus! No staff on site that we saw but didnât really need anyone, free to come and go as we pleased and the property felt secure and safe we even left the patio doors open to allow fresh air in, perfect location. Quiet spot in walking distance of Ambleside pubs would definitely return. â
âHad the most amazing stay at Elder Grove. The owners were super friendly and very service minded. The room was very tidy and clean and we enjoyed our breakfast every morning. Great location, calm and no traffic. Can't wait to visit again.â

âNice stay in the lakes with the dog. Great staff at the hotel, good breakfast and extensive drinks selection. Room was very small and pokey but otherwise ok and fairly comfortable. We were on the top floor and there is no lift, so would not be suitable for those with restricted mobility. â
