This was glamping at its finest—comfort blended perfectly with the peace and beauty of nature. We loved the seamless indoor/outdoor living space, which made it easy to relax and soak in the surroundings. The gate on the deck was such a thoughtful touch, letting our dogs roam safely while we hung out. Hiking trails are all over the property, and while we chose the easy walk down the road to the river, there are plenty of options for exploring. A wonderful stay all around!

A beautiful retreat to reset

We had a great stay at Christine and Ken’s place. Their property is secluded and makes for a perfect getaway to relax and reset. Their place was clean and had everything we needed (and more, as we arrived to find a few fresh eggs left for us to enjoy). Our dog enjoyed the stay, too; especially getting to take advantage of the trails on the property. I would highly recommend this retreat and hope to visit again!

My wife and I loved Rivernest! Perfect for us and two of our furry family to get away and relax for the weekend. Trails on the property are great and well-marked and Christine and Ken's setup by the river is super cool. I got to enjoy the slackline while watching the pups chase tennis balls in the Yadkin. What great hosts and such a little piece of heaven!

AMAZING!!!

It was so beautiful and breathtaking! It was like you were sleeping in the trees with the breeze blowing on you with the glass-doors open…and an amazing view of the river. There are so many winery’s close by and hiking trails…and it is one of the best most relaxing peaceful weekends away. The hostess is sweet and so kind! We definitely want to go back!

Girls trip!

Rivernest was the perfect place for a girls trip! Cozy, relaxing, had everything we needed. Our host, Christine, was so sweet and always available to answer my questions and make us feel at home. We hiked the trail on the property down to the river. Beautiful. Planning another visit there soon.

Paradise!

We had a lovely stay. It's quiet and well kept! We loved being able to throw open the glass garage doors and have a glamping experience. The surroundings are beautiful and the drive time to Pilot Mountain is under 30 minutes. We love all the hiking paths on the property and the hosts are amazing with communication and have a lot of knowledge about the surrounding areas. We WILL be back! Thanks for a lovely stay.

Perfect getaway

My boyfriend and I had to cancel a vacation earlier this year due to a pet emergency and booked this as a last minute makeup vacation. The location is perfectly situated between pilot mountain and Winston Salem, so we got a good mix of outdoor adventure and city exploring. The cabin and grounds themselves were also GORGEOUS! We loved watching sunrise from the patio with some cocoa and had a picnic down by the river walking distance from the house. Cannot recommend enough and we will definitely be back!

Great place, very relaxing & friendly hosts!

We had a great stay, very relaxing. Ken & Christine were very nice! We did around 3.5 miles of hiking on their property. So makes more trails to explore! Could ride the trails with your MTB also! Only suggestion is maybe a queen side mattress. Besides that we really enjoyed the property, thank you!

Peace and quiet with an incredible view!

We were looking for someplace that had beautiful scenery, hiking, and peacefulness. Boy did we find it! We loved every minute of our time here. The views and deck were priceless. We can hardly wait for fall to come so we can roll up the wall and enjoy my idea of glamping! lol. Thanks so much for having us. The communication was perfect. We loved the quiet and the hiking by the river. Access to wineries and more hiking was within 24 minutes. If you're looking to disconnect and unwind, this is the place!

Lovely view, could have been cleaner

The view was absolutely lovely and we spent a lot of time on the deck enjoying that. Unfortunately the place was not as clean as we hoped. There were cobwebs and dust webs everywhere, someone else’s hair in the shower drain, mold in the shower and a ring at the water line in the toilet. This feels very much like the owner’s office space with a bed and kitchenette in it and not like a getaway.

Great secluded place

My impression of the “River Nest” was spectacular and eclectic .The view over looking the Yadkin River was a dream and in the distance the view of Mt Pilot was just as nice. The location was perfect for multiple Wineries and quick drive to Mt Airy. The home was perfect for a small family or a couples getaway. The host were gracious and welcoming and let us get as many eggs from the chicken coop for breakfast . Plenty to do there from hiking on several trails to fishing and boating on the property. The stay was awesome and enjoyed every bit of it from sleeping under the stars and waking up to the morning sun rise ,views are awesome. We came as strangers and left as friends. We will be back!

Great views! Comfy stay!

We had a very nice stay in this artist studio. Awesome views of the river! And you can see Pilot Mountain from the side windows. We enjoyed relaxing out on the deck and even opening the glass garage door 'wall' on the one warm and dry afternoon of our stay. We also enjoyed exploring the trails that wind through the extensive wooded area of the property and along the Yadkin River. Our hostess, Christine, was very helpful, and quick to respond to any questions or needs. Keep in mind that you do not have full kitchen facilities. There is a small refrigerator, a hot plate, a microwave, and a small coffeemaker. This was enough for us to keep our brewskis cold and to scramble some eggs (fresh! from the chickens on the property).
