South Gate Hotel Okinawa Naha Tomari Port (Direct Access to Tomarin)

"We stayed for four nights and had a good stay. The hotel is new and therefore in great condition. The location is great if you have booked island visits as it is right above the port. Our room was big with a beautiful view of the harbour and the beds were very comfortable. The Onsen is spacious and nice with a sauna, however we did miss the refreshments such as tea, ice cream or similar after the bath. The terrace with a (very small!) pool is a nice place to relax in the sun. There are however room for improvement. Our overall experience with staff is that they are friendly, but as most staff do not speak English at all, it is really hard do communicate. This affected both check in procedures, car rental services and restaurant visits. Further, the breakfast buffet is not worth the money. The buffet was not well stocked at all, items ran low and standard things were missing such as proper coffee (cappuccino, espresso etc), granola, cheese or ham for sandwiches, honey for tea and similar. Some food items seemed to be left overs form yesterdays dinner such as ”taco meat”. The French toast was beautiful but unfortunately very soggy. There were some fruit options but very limited and the taste of the mango and avocado indicated that it had been frozen. Overall this is a good hotel with the potential of becoming a great one."

"Rummet var i minsta laget när man kommer med två stora väskor. Men fick som tur är tre sängar så en använde vi till förvaring. Sköna sängar, bra ac och toalett. Frukost enklare men god. Ingick drinkbuffé 10-22 vilken innehöll allt från öl/vin till diverse typer av alkohol. Och popcorn!"

"Deras onsen är väldigt behagligt - badade både morgon och kväll. Det är tyst och jag sov gott. Det är en något omständlig process att checka in via deras automater. Frukosten är riklig men jag saknade färsk frukt (det fanns endast vattenmelon). Det var trist att de stängt takpoolen då den andra poolen på 2 våningen dels var stängd mitt på dagen när det var varmast och sedan på eftermiddagen ligger både pool och solstolar i skuggan. Hotellet bjuder på glass och öl mellan 13 och 15 varje dag. "
