“I was surprised when driving up to the main door, it looked mush more nicer than I expected. The room was ok, the hotel is worn down, but still I got a really good price and I could recommend this to other people which does not need the 5 star experience.”

“Terribly disappointed. Firstly, double booked, we were sent off to Mamalla Inn in the village. Day 2. We were promised our room when we got back from our visit to the city. Our luggage was still lying at the reception when we got back. After waiting at the reception for 40 minutes we were packed into a room that was hurriedly cleaned up. Towels were in shreds, door lamination peeling off. Unfortunately we had included breakfast and dinner in our package. I haven't eaten worse food than that...

“I really liked this place, the staff was very friendly anf forthcoming and food was excellent. The beach access is easy and the beach is absolutely stunning albeit wild. It’s not a 5-star hotel in the european sense but a great space if you want a bit of privacy and peace when visiting Mamallapuram.”

“I would say this is one of the best beach resorts near Chennai and value for money. Limited rooms but they have a nice pool, lot of outdoor space for games like cricket, foot ball etc.,. Beach - at a walkable distance and an indoor TT and carrom hall. Rooms are tidy and spacious with a good view. Breakfast spread is just about ok, can have variety and food can be hot. Otherwise nothing to complain here. Would deftly suggest this place for a weekend getaway. Kids enjoyed their time here. P.S :...

“I had a wonderful experience at the hotel. The only thing I didn't like was the Spa. It was absolutely the worst spa and massage I've ever had and there was some suspicious behaviour in there which I avoided. However, I know that the spa is run separately. I would just recommend the management of this hotel to disassociate with the Spa and/or remove its mention from the website. Otherwise the hotel itself was perfect. Great food, great service, really wonderful experience.”

“the stay was quite and calm, since the renovation was going on here and the regular room building was not organized well. food was normal and buffet Breakfast was decent but options were less.”

“Pros: The hotel Athithi is located in market area. Very near to rock beach (walkable) and good restaurants. A good family hotel. Cons: Bath place is small. Water comes out of bath area. Glass linings seems to be worn out.”

Restaurangen var inte så bra, inte så kul frukost, gamla croissointer och hår i maten, och efter 2 försök att få en efterrätt utan nötter så gav vi upp. Sedan en dyr taxiresa, vi var tvungna att betala hela vägen till Chennai Airport trots att vi ville kliva av 40 km innan. ”

“Nice and helpful staff, nice pool but not so good location with all the trafic and a lot of sounds all the time. Atm close by. We stayed for two weeks and the service didn't keep up the same standard during the entire stay but was depending on who was working. We had a 1,5 year old kid with us and it's not a good hotel for that young kids since there isn't that much they can do. Housekeeping was great most of the days but was also depending on the staff.”
