The Prince of Wales has bus-stops immediately outside the building and it is located opposite the entrance to Osborne House. Our breakfasts were generous in terms of portions and any extra requirements arrived swiftly. Our room was very good value and it was very quiet. Two minor issues with fixtures were resolved quickly and cheerfully. We did not have a car during this visit, but the bus journey from the East Cowes dock took only a few minutes on the local bus service. Great value , great location, and helpful staff.

Booked a 3 night stay here.Great location, right opposite Osbourne House. Nice period property and room was spacious but tired in areas (shower had pieces of sealant hanging off and mould on the shower door). It would benefit from a good clean (eg dirty skirting boards, cobwebs, carpet stained). Hotel is situated on a main road so noisy even late at night with the windows open, although that didn't bother us. Had one evening meal here and one breakfast. Food was lovely although breakfast slow. Think a barrel delivery had arrived same time so that may have been why. Would be nice if you could help yourself to tea and coffee or juice in the dining room whilst waiting for service.

Room was clean, and windows were excellently glazed to prevent any traffic noise from the streets. Very convenient with the bus stop right outside to get to the ferry as well as Newport/anywhere else on the isle. Osbourne house right across the street. food options were limited around the pub, but the floating bridge to Cowes conveniently down the road by either a 20 min walk or the bus.

We were very well looked after by our hosts and could see their passion in ensuring that everything was done to ensure an excellent stay. Food was excellent and the chef has a real skill putting together a comprehensive menu.

Excellent stay as always!

Excellent stay as always, lovely room in the king size bedroom, really clean and well presented. Our doggies were made to feel so welcome too! Very friendly staff and we enjoyed both our breakfasts and evening meal. We’ll definitely stay again on our next visit to the IOW, thank you!

Will definitely stay again

Friendly staff, checked in at the bar and even though it was busy the bartender was so friendly and showed us straight to the room with no wait. Comfy and well decorated room. Breakfast was great (they can do vegan if you ask and had 0 fuss).

Little gem

Little gem of a bar, restaurant and hotel. Very clean, lovely room very quaint, fabulous food and very friendly/helpful staff. Lovely beer garden and ideally situated for a visit to Osbourne house just literally over the road. Bus stop directly outside of the hotel so good for people without cars.

The staff were casual, ill informed and their dress was dreadful. There was no reception, the bar tender looked surprised to have guests at all. I = had been told that the hotel was heavily booked but that we could have a quiet room facing the garden with a shower. However we were given a room facing the main road, with a shower over the bath. There were only two other couples staying, so the hotel was not heavily booked. The plumbing was a pumped waste system which only emptied intermittently, and the wash basin plug did not hold water. The paintwork was chipped, there were holes in the wall plaster. The cupboard was full of a spare bed so there was no room to hang our clothes. The dinner menu was typical pub food, and the fish overcooked, though the thick chips were good. . Breakfast was the worst I’ve ever had. Boiled eggs were hard boiled, Peeled and served cold on a plate with a piece of toast and a small packet of butter which was rancid. yoghurt was half fat, and sweetened. The coffee was served in cups and not hot. All this slapped down on a pub table by a grumpy waiter, It seemed that they were not used to having guests, and were not trained to fulfil their duties. This hotel was a great disappointment and I could not recommend it.
