“We had to change last minute and the Villas Macadamia had a casita. Turned out to be the best place we have stayed. Plenty of space for the whole family, close to town and quiet. ”

“I was thinking just a room with the breakfast included option for two people but it turned out they have a full kitchen, living room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The host and her daughter were super friendly and willing to help us out. They recommended a good local restaurants and our stay was very comfortable. It’s a nice location too. Close to the downtown but still very quiet. ”

“We loved it here. The family cabin (casa bamboo) was fantastic and there was loads of room for our party of nine to sleep. The walk to the waterfalls is included in your stay and it was really interesting with lots of waterfalls and hanging bridges on the way. You have to bear in mind that it is remote and you need to be transported to the accommodation using their 4x4's but you can just message them on WhatsApp and they come and get you instantly. “Vi bodde här två nätter och det var som att komma hem till vänner. De sista km väg hit är inte att leka med, men så är det ju när man lämnar huvudvägarna i Costa Rica. Väl här får vi vars en stuga som är rymlig och fräsch. Vid restaurangen ligger också en liten pool. Eftersom det är en bit från civilisationen äter vi också middag här. Familjen har en liten men trevlig meny, och vi blir inte besvikna på vare sig mat eller annat. ”

“Lovely brand new hotel on a hillside overlooking the main center of Santa Elena. Beautiful clean rooms with clean water and bathrooms, new construction, 5 minute walk to town. The hosts are lovely and welcoming, providing advice to guests on all sorts of things. Communal breakfast in the morning is great too! Most of all, this property is run by a non-profit that supports children's education, so it's great to contribute to the cause by staying here.”

“ We stayed here for two nights. The receptionst was really helpful, she guided us among all the activities you can do in the area and booked them for us once we had decided what to do. It is a 5-10 minute walk to some pretty good restaurants and the city centre. Location was good. The companies that arranged the acitivities we took part in also offered pick-up at the hotel which was convenient. Depending on the activity it took 10-30 minutes to get to the starting point with the shuttle. ”

“Host is incredibly friendly and accessible via WhatsApp. Stayed in the private apartment and was in love with the patio which faces the mountains and sunset. Space is modern. clean, and super cozy. Also stocked with some great coffee and South American wines. ”
