Bra service, stort rum, mycket god frukost, nära till spårvagn och transport till/från flygplatsen. 20-30 min promenad till The Castle, 10 min till Princes Street.

Litet och mysigt B&B med stora och bekväma rum
En otroligt trevlig ägare och ett mysigt B&B med bara tre rum. Det är relativt nära till det mesta i staden, men efter att ha gått samma gata för 8:e gången så tar man taxi den första biten (vilket Aileen hjälper dig att beställa). Väldigt bra frukost, typiskt engelskt/skotsk där du får välja själv vad du vill ha och hur du vill ha det. Aileen (ägaren) kan man nämna igen att hon ställer upp med all service du vill ha/behöver och lite till. Hon fixade utflykts-kasse till oss med allt möjligt skotsk i när vi skulle åka på en heldagsbusstur. Ca 18 pund för taxi från flyget och ca 8-10 pund för taxi till vart som helst i staden. Passar på att tipsa om Robbie's också som är en mindre resebyrå i staden som fixar mindre, personliga, utflykter och Sightseeing i staden. Man blir trött på pubmaten efter ett tag, men det finns mycket annat att välja på!

Added to our enjoyment of the fringe.
We went to Edinburgh for the fringe. The B&B was excellent. Good breakfast and well looked after. Like being part of the family. Close enough to the centre to make it walkable if you are young enough.

The owner, Aileen Reeves, was an outstanding host... made sure we were 100% satisfid with the accomodations. Her breakfasts' were great, and she would introduce us all if there we more than 1 couple in the breakfast room. The room was as clean as can be, and everything worked to our delight. Thank you, Aileen!! We will be in contact when next we plan a visit your wonderful townhouse, city and country!!

夜遅く着いたのですが、 １階のドアには表示はなく、間違ったのかと、少し困りました。実は施設の場所は、横の階段を降りた道路から下です。 住所も１４ではなく、１４Ａと表示すべきです。 しかし、地下とはいえ入り口横で、窓もあり快適でした。 とても静かで、気持ちよくすごせました。

Great Neighborhood. Wonderful Host.
Loved our stay. Aileen was delightful. We stayed in her African themed room. Very cozy. Heated perfectly for my wife who likes it warm. The room is large and comes with Tea, Biscuits, some Chocolates, and a snifter of the good stuff. Just a 2 block walk to the 100 Airporter bus, and a 15 minute walk to either Old town or New Town. We loved our stay, and we loved Aileen and her staff.

Best B&B Experience I've Ever Had
The hostess is a wonderfully kind and hilarious lady. The room was very cute and clean. If you are moderately active it's an easy walk to almost everything. If you are not moderately active the tram/bus is a short walk down the way. I would give this B&B a 10 star rating out of 5.

Home from home
A beautiful townhouse. Aileen (the owner) is a lovely lady with a good sense of humour, nothing is too much trouble, she makes this guest house very homely. She left a welcoming gift of a small decanter of whiskey, water & chocolates along with chocolates & the usual tea, coffee & hot choc (& biscuits) supplies. Breakfast was included & we certainly didn't need to eat for the rest of the day! Fresh fruit, various yoghurts, a full Scottish breakfast (cooked to your requirements) followed by toast. There were cereals, juices, teas & fresh coffee too. Aileen is very knowledgeable about the area & will point you in the direction you need to go. I would definitely recommend this guest house to anyone wanting to explore Edinburgh. We plan to go back ourselves later in the year.

Lovely stay in a great place
Huge room and en suite, very grand and comfortable. Aileen the proprietor was really friendly and helpful and supplied a comprehensive and delicious breakfast. The location was ideal being only three minutes' walk from Haymarket and trams to the airport. We will stay here again.

AMAZING!!!
The owner, Aileen, was amazing from the moment I booked this hotel. We communicated several times before my arrival to Edinburgh and she always promptly responded to my emails. She gave me exact directions on how to get to The Victorian Townhouse using public transportation. She cooks an authentic Scottish breakfast every morning for her guests, which was delicious. The rooms were well furnished, nicely decorated, and very clean. The rooms were also very quiet. We didn't hear other guests or outside noise. The location is within walking distance of pretty much everything you'd want to see while in Edinburgh. Other than to and from the airport when we took the bus, we walked everywhere we went! I left my ipad in my room upon checkout and Aileen had it mailed overnight to me in London free of charge. This was above and beyond as it was my mistake for leaving it behind. I can't say enough good things about the Victorian Townhouse. I highly recommend this place to everyone! I will definitely rebook when I return to Edinburgh! Thanks so much for your warm hospitality, Aileen!

OK but not sure I'd go back...
This hotel is 1/2 story underground, so it's rather like staying in a basement and somewhat damp. We did have to exterminate a rather large spider but that may be something that comes along with housing partially below ground level. Our room had a very small shower enclosure -- perhaps 3' x 3'. Bed comfort was average. Still, the rooms are good sized, the proprietor is personable, helpful and friendly, and the breakfasts were very good.

Quiet,pleasant,and historical place to stay in new town Edinburgh. Very accommodating and supportive owner. Only 1 off for low flow shower. I would definitely stay here again. It would feel like going home.

Absolutely Wonderful!
Our stay at the Victorian Town House was fabulous! Aileen, the owner, was terrific and extremely accommodating throughout our stay, from our delayed flight, to our forgotten charging cords, to restaurant recommendations. Her Scottish breakfast was great. We would highly recommend staying at this B&B!

Nice hotel close to the centre
Aileen the owner couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms where very spacious and clean with everything you could want - the extra touch like a small decanter of whisky and chocolates in the room was excellent . There was everything you could possibly want for breakfast. A thoroughly enjoyable experience and I would definitely go back .

Relaxing stay
Our stay was amazing. Aileen is a wonderful hostess. The room was very spacious and we were made to feel at home from the minute we arrived. The cooked breakfast is a must, you may not require lunch. Great location with easy access to bus and rail station, and a pleasant walk to the city centre. And a nice personal touch was the decanter of whiskey to enjoy after your day out. Will definitely keep The Victorian Town House, on our to visit again list

convenient and welcoming bed & breakfast
The best place we stayed in during our trip to the UK. The place was beautifully and comfortably furnished, the room (Caledonian) was large and cozy, and the location was very convenient, a short walk from the city center. The owner, Aileen, was extraordinarily kind and helpful and very friendly. A couple of mornings during our stay, we had early all-day tours, so we had to leave before breakfast, so instead of the lovely free breakfast she provided on other mornings, Aileen packed us picnic lunches loaded with goodies. There were also complimentary snacks and water provided in the room (as well as a small decanter of whiskey!). Overall, we felt like we were staying with a very considerate friend, rather than mere guests in a hotel.

Wonderful base, central and quiet . Free parking over weekends not too far away . Aileen is a wonderful host very warm, funny and helpful. Superb breakfast .Nice touches with decoration , whiskey and chocolates!Highly recommended .

A lovely home that has been well maintained, the king room is very spacious and comfortable, and the location is within easy walking distance to Edinburgh's main attractions, restaurants, and shopping.

I was welcomed by the very cheerful "Aileen" who couldn't do enough to make my stay comfortable (this included the decanter of whisky and box of chocolates!). Breakfast was normally served at 9am, but as I had early tours booked on 2 mornings she insisted on serving my (excellent) breakfast at 8am. Nothing was too much trouble and it was an absolute pleasure to stay in such a lovely B&B with every facility to could possible need.

Wonderful B and B in the West End
Good location in West End. Close to restaurants and transportation. Wonderful personable staff, more like friends who went out of their way for us. They packed us a tasty lunch for the road. Very knowledgeable about things to do, good restaurants and transportation in Edinburgh. Great hardy breakfast to start the day. Extra candy and drink in the room. Large very clean bedroom and bathroom. Would definitely stay there again just to talk with Aileen and company.

Welcoming B&B close to the city
A great place to stay within a short walk to Princess Street! The host gave us a warm welcome when we arrived and continued to care for our every need throughout our stay. Our room and ensuite were very large, well furnished and very tastefully decorated with an African theme. The bed was very comfortable, and we were provided with a beautifully prepared hot breakfast each morning. The final touch was being presented with a packed lunch on the day of our departure, which was much appreciated. We can't recommend the Victorian Town House more highly. We would certainly stay there again if we had the opportunity.

Home away from home
Superb hospitality. Although the beds initially seemed too firm, my wife and I slept very, very well both nights; they were just right.

chambre correcte en rez de jardin mais très humide. Chauffage parcimonieux sur demand̀e. Hotesse très bavarde sur elle même mais pas de renseignement sur les restaurants ni les transports urbains. Petit déjeuner imposé à 9 h et pas avant. Le dernier jour, nous avons demandé 8 h compte tenu d'une longue étape. Il nous a été promis un petit-déjeuner continental. En fait, même pas une tasse de café et un toast mais 2 pâtisseries dans un sac plastique. A déconseiller pour ceux qui ont une voiture car soit parking prohibitif à 10£ pour 4 heures non renouvelables ou se garer à plus de 20 minutes à pied.

A Lovely Spot
Aileen is the perfect hostess, she had the room all ready for me and my 21 year old daughter and even gave us our choice of rooms. We got there earlier than expected but Aileen worked with us and everything went smoothly. Our room was sparkling clean and she even had a nip of whiskey and chocolates for a snack. The beds were great, best on our trip, so we got a good night's sleep. The room was beautifully decorated as were the other rooms. There was a nice sofa and chairs to sit and write postcards. Breakfast was delicious and Aileen packed us a "to go" bag for our train ride to London. We really enjoyed staying at The Victorian Townhouse and chatting with Aileen. She even went online & played a song for me with my name in it. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Soggiorno alla Town House per quattro notti insieme alla mia compagna. La posizione è eccellente: zona residenziale silenziosa e distante solo pochi minuti dalla fermata del tram Haymarket (5 min. a piedi) e da Prices Street (10 min. a piedi). La stanza (ce ne sono tre, la nostra è la Dunedin) è molto ampia. Contiene due letti a due piazze, spazio con divano e tavolino, guardaroba, bagno con box doccia e televisore. La presenza del caminetto e di decorazioni natalizie, unitamente allo stile vittoriano, conferisce all'ambiente un'atmosfera intima, casalinga e piacevole. Bevande (tè, caffé, whisky e acqua), dolciumi e connessione wi-fi sono compresi. La colazione è fantastica: frutta fresca, cereali misti e yogurt ed in più, su ordinazione (ma compresi nel presso, ovviamente), English muffins, toast e marmellate, pancakes con sciroppo d'acero e una fantastica colazione scozzese con uova, bacon, salsiccia, funghi e pomodori. La vera protagonista è però la proprietaria. La Signora Reeves merita un capitolo a parte: gentilissima, sempre pronta ad una parola gentile, letteralmente ossessionata dalla qualità di tutto ciò che può fare e predisporre per gli ospiti. Da sola, vale una visita alla Town House, che consiglieremmo a chiunque per un soggiorno in città.
