Moonrise Point is a luxurious paradise rich in natural beauty. Located in a private community (The Hammock's) on Edisto Island, the home is situated on Scott Creek which provides boat and kayak access through beautiful Jeremy Inlet to the secluded beach on the Atlantic Ocean where you can spend hours swimming and shell seeking on miles of unspoiled sandy beach. Spectacular sunrises, ocean and creek views, and all the sights and sounds of the saltwater marshes are served daily by Mother Nature herself. Whether you enjoy boating, bird watching, crabbing, fishing, kayaking, or just a spectacular view of Edisto's beauty, the vantage points from almost every angle of this 3,030-square-foot home and the deep-water dock are sure to wow guests of all ages.

The beauty continues indoors with a full kitchen equipped with granite countertops and top-of-the-line appliances to ensure your friends and family are entertained in style! The spacious living area features magnificent hardwood floors, full-view picture windows, and comfortable furnishings guaranteeing the best vacation you've experienced yet. Free WiFi and flatscreen TVs will keep your group entertained should a brief rain shower interrupt your day on the beach or in the boat. The main bedroom is located on the second floor which features a spacious en-suite bathroom and full-view picture windows for soaking in the expansive views of the Atlantic Ocean as soon as you wake up. Be sure to pack your fishing poles or stop by the store for your crabbing materials. After long days in the sun, cool off on the expansive deck or the screened porch just outside of the kitchen/dining area while the chef in your group whips up a Lowcountry feast. Make sure to stay up long enough to watch the moonrise and catch a glimpse of the lights of the shrimp trawlers working late into the night to bring in a fresh catch of delicious Atlantic shrimp. A community boat ramp is also available for your use. No Smoking, Please.

  • A very early morning outing at Botany Bay on Edisto Island. I had to start from my hotel at 3 AM to make it to this location before dawn. Botany Bay Plantation is a nature preserve and has regulated visitor hours. Gates open 30 minutes before sunrise - I wish they'd open a little sooner as the golden hour is pretty much more than half way done by the time one can make it to the beach. Nevertheless, it's a great location to visit at sunrise, especially if there are high clouds to add drama. Recommended to visit when the tide is ebbing as you then get the shadows of the trees, which to my eyes add more depth to the image. On this day, there was a bank of low clouds that prevented too much color but it was a great sunrise to witness nonetheless. The trees have so much character and add so much to the image. It's hard to look at the remnants of these trees and not imagine the onslaught they've withstood at the hands of mother nature. #WeekendGetAwayForTheFamily #colorful #USA #weekend #treetrove #blue

Family Time

Property is tired and you can tell that there are many maintenance issues that seem to not get done. Upon arrival to the property the elevator was not working. The reason we chose this property was the elevator for my elderly father. I did call that evening and someone arrived the next morning. It was difficult getting him inside that night. I watched what was done and the elevator went down again and it was a simple fix but it should be corrected. Breakers were off to the kitchen and lighting would not work, The chain to the garage door was just left hanging as it was rusted and broken. There was a loose step in the front and in the back there were bricks on the step that were loose. Safety hazards which should be addressed prior to it being rented. You could tell landscaping had been ignored. Overall it was ok but for the type of property it is you would think it would have been better cared for and looked after. I would choose to look at a different property if staying again.

Breathtaking Views!

Excellent views of sunrise, tidal creek & marshes as well as the ocean. Easy kayak paddle to the beach. An incredible and relaxing place to gather with family and friends.

Edisto for the Win!

This exactly met my expectations and hopes according to what shown in the pics! I honestly wanted to be in Charleston and mistook Edisto Island as a community within Charleston, but I'm really glad we were here. My family needed a place that was secluded and not around a bunch of tourist attractions that would have compelled us to be busy everyday. We were able to be still and let the ocean lull us into a serenity in a way Charleston wouldn't have allowed. We did go to Charleston twice which speaks to the convenience of the location relative to Charleston.
