Set on our family ranch, this guest cabin offers a truly authentic escape — not commercial or cookie-cutter — and is thoughtfully maintained to provide guests with a comfortable, turnkey country experience.
The cabin overlooks a scenic pond/tank, complete with a picturesque dock that feels straight out of a postcard. Guests are welcome to enjoy catch-and-release fishing right on the property, and mornings often bring sightings of deer and other wildlife moving quietly through the trees.
And for a little extra ranch charm — you may also hear (or spot from a distance) the property’s chickens and goats during your stay. Chickens remain in their coop and goats stay in their pen while guests are on the property, adding a fun touch of country life without impacting your privacy.
One of the best parts? This getaway feels worlds away — yet it’s incredibly convenient. The cabin is located just 1.5 hours from Dallas, making it an easy drive for a weekend escape, and only 10 minutes from downtown Emory, where you’ll find restaurants, a grocery store, and anything you might need during your stay.

This guest cabin sits on a large ranch property that includes two additional homes, as well as an on-site property manager. The cabin itself is tucked into the trees and feels wonderfully separate, with the other residences out of view from the cabin area. Most guests find this setup offers the best combination of quiet seclusion — along with the comfort of knowing the property is cared for and supported.
For added ease and privacy, the cabin also has its own private entrance, separate from the main property entrance.

In the evening, the property truly shines — string lights glow overhead, the stars come out bright, and the fire pit becomes the perfect gathering spot for a cozy campfire, s’mores, and quiet conversation. Some firewood is provided year-round.

Pond Fishing + Dock
Guests are welcome to fish in the pond (catch-and-release only) and enjoy time on the dock.
Please bring your own poles and bait.
Children must be supervised near the pond and dock.

✔Because the cabin is located on a heavily wooded ranch, spiders and normal woodland bugs/critters are to be expected outdoors — it’s part of the charm of staying in nature :)

This area is very peaceful overall, with just a touch of country charm — you may occasionally hear a rooster crow or the soft sounds of goats from their pen. You can also sometimes hear a vehicle pass on the main road, but most guests describe the cabin as quiet, relaxing, and wonderfully removed from city life.
