“Staff were attentive and polite. Room was a bit too hot for sleeping. Breakfast was excellent quality but the high end restaurant was expensive for the quality of food. Also only had 3 options for children which was not great. Swimming area was lovely. ”

“Well located to shops, restaurants, bus, and walking distance to the train station, but room was pretty basic. Many eateries in the area which serve when the in house catering is closed (open 10:00-3:00). Building is old, so not surprised by some minor plumbing issues. Staff friendly and helpful.”

“We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful. The area is beautiful but with only one night, we didn’t get the change to do much exploring. Next time. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay.”

“The room wasn't clean. There were hairs left in the window sill from previous visitors, and a pair of dusty swimming trunks on an bathroom shelf. The hotel felt very outdated and dark. The heated pool and steam room was a really nice feature, but I found a bug in the sink in the changing room. The bar staff was very friendly, but food could have been better. We had a room for a family but still had to ask for glasses, mugs and teas for everyone, as well as extra toilet paper. There was very...

“Be prepared to pay 2x40 gbp for taxi from/to Gatwick airport. Only restaurant is at the inn and it is indian and nepalese. Stay pleasant though. Clean. Helpful staff.”
