Not perfect, but still great
The location is great, within easy walking distance of restaurants, coffee shops, a liquor store, etc. And amazing views atop a ~75’ bluff with surfers every morning and dolphins every morning and evening to watch. The home is a bit older, overall in good condition, just a few little things primarily outside such as glass wall panels that have fallen out of alignment, some holes between the ground and wall especially where the putting green is (luckily no golf balls went down them), and the green is worn and very uneven with a couple soft sink holes. Nothing that would stop us from staying again though. Only frustrations is the parking lane is so narrow I couldn’t pull in all the way if I wanted to open my truck door, and the beach access immediately next door that would as stated in the ad has been closed for 4 months so we had to drive a couple miles away to get to the beach.

Great location
The house has a great location. We appreciated the layout of the house, and everything was in order when we checked in. The hot tub was broken and unable to be fixed during our stay, but they were responsive and sent someone over to take a look at it. I did have several other discussions with the property management company during our stay as well. Overall the customer service was less than expected.

Spacious beachhouse
This was by far a great vacation. Met with friends and enjoyed this 5 bedroom. It is very spacious, plenty of room, great backyard to sit and watch the ocean. Saw many dolphins swimming.. Amazing property, friendly staff, great house, we will be back. Thanks Beachfront !!

Priceless memories were made
Amazing views from a very large and comfortable space with many living/seating areas. The property is truly as described, and it is so convenient to be right next to the entry to the beach. Beds were comfortable and sheets were very clean, though some of the bedrooms are very dark. The kitchen was a bit bare-bones, in that it did not have very much silverware or many cooking appliances, all of which were very dated. The stove was particularly dated, and rather dangerous because one of the gas burners did not shut off easily, which is definitely a fire hazard. We strongly recommend that it be replaced as soon as possible. Management was very responsive when we made them aware of a few things: the hot tub would not heat up, and they immediately came and took care of it. We did mention the gas stove, and while one of the knobs was replaced, it did not fully solve the problem. Something we noticed about the place is that everything is extremely high, as if it were fitted for some professional basketball players! All of us are of average height, and it was awkward to be in this house where everything was made for giants. That said, nothing one can't ignore for a 5-day stay. There were no ant issues previously mentioned in other reviews, but there were some rats living behind the hot tub. This is absolutely not the fault of the property management, as there is a dumpster beyond the wall of the property that undoubtedly attracts the rats. We left them alone and they left us alone, though you must be very conscious about covering the hot tub when not in use! Check in and check out were problem-free. We would definitely stay there again, just recommend a new stove and refrigerator, and some updated kitchen equipment (pots, pans, silverware), as prices in California are through the roof, and it was super to actually be able to cook while there.

Great location.

Fabulous Location
The property has an unbeatable location! Views are spectacular. The parking lot next door is convenient as finding the tiny driveway is difficult in the dark & on a one way street so challenging. There's no welcome basket or anything that you need when arriving (water, coffee, etc) so stop at a store before arriving.

Even better than it looks
This house was wonderful - bright, sunny, clean, gorgeous views and sunsets. Definitely as billed and then some. The property manager responsiveness was fantastic (note this is not an individual, this is a company, so more structured, but not less personal). We stayed for Thanksgiving because my brother and his young kids couldn't travel to our mom's house as usual. Worked great for age range <1 to 78!

The view from this property cannot be beat. Spectacular. There are multiple beds, kitchen well furnished and clean. Some bedrooms had only a bed and lamp. No chairs and suitcases had to go on the floor. Most of the electrical outlets could use some TLC from electrician. Holes and loose cover plates. I was afraid to use them.

Perfect short extended family getaway
So roomy for 3 generations of family! My dad is 95 and my mom is 89. We celebrated a post-COVID bday for the two of them. At this stage my dad can only sit and enjoy the view. Perfect for that! Our grown kids need spouses enjoyed the amenities and we perfectly content staying nearby. The company of family is the height of joy for my parents nowadays. Close access to the stairs to the beach. The town of leocadia is so cute! Great memories. House was so comfortable with thoughtful amenities.

Romantic Staycation
As newlyweds, my husband and I wanted to celebrate our union. Driving into north county is like a vacation in and of itself! The location of the vrbo is breathtaking. We spent both days sitting on the patio, listening to the waves, watching the surfers, and letting time pass by. Our second day we got adventurous and joined the locals running up and down the road overlooking the ocean. Restaurants are a short walk away (totally recommend Moto Deli - the Cubano and peanut butter cookie are crave-able). Evenings we enjoyed margaritas blended in the well stocked kitchen from the hot jacuzzi as we watched the sun set. Mornings on the ocean cliff almost brought tears to my eyes, I didn’t want to leave! We never once heard the upstairs neighbors, it was a perfect mini moon.

Great Stay!
Overall very nice place. Listing is a little misleading as the video with the property flyover made me believe that we had access to the roof. We also had an ant problem that could have been handled better but was not due to poor follow-up by the rental representative. Location is second to none. Will be back. Hoping some of the small problems are fixed.

Ants everywhere/no wifi
We stayed in a October for a weekend. The pictures made it look like we would be booking a whole home. It was actually just the first floor tht was infested with ants. Ant traps all over the house. Ants in the BEDS!!! The wifi went out as soon as we arrived and went unfixed the whole stay.

Great beach house but not without issues
Great location, property and responsive property manager. Kitchen was well stocked. Easy convenient walk to the beach and shops. Unfortunately, we had ants throughout the house, getting into our food on the kitchen counter and in our beds as well. Informed the property manager and they offered to come out to take a look but didn't feel comfortable having them over in our space during these covid times. A few ants in the kitchen is tolerable. But its a bit much when they're getting into the food and beds.

Relaxing
We stayed here with another family for a brief vacation. The house had more than enough space for 9 of us, we even had a few extra beds. Great location with convenient beach access right next to the house.. The only downside was that the house had a lot of ants inside every room and the BBQ only had one burner working. Other than that our stay was perfect! Thank you for sharing this great house!

Worst Experience To Date
Do not stay here. We checked in to what we thought was going to be an amazing experience based off of previous reviews but we were wrong. Broken fridge (management gave us dry ice) and we had to throw away food, ants were everywhere (beds, counter tops, etc) to the point of us needing to throw away even more food, dead June bugs on nightstand, mouse running around our last night (we found a hole in the wall and dropping a behind the couch). I emailed and called management and got 1 response from maintenance who did NOT wear a mask while coming in. You have a good location right next to the beach but you can find that elsewhere. Oh! To top it off, they offered a small refund in comparison to total amount for 3 days! Terrible management and lack of care for your customers.

This was a really fun winter get away for us four couples from Minnesota. The views were breathtaking. Location so convenient to everything. Four king bedrooms was perfect for us.

Great getaway
Overall this is a great property. A few small deferred maintenance items like the screen door in the north west bedroom and trying to figure out the outdoor lights but that was very small compared to the great layout for a larger group. Property management staff was easy to deal with and responsive. Like all beach rentals, parking can be a challenge but it worked out well during our stay.

Huge ceiling leakage that was dealt with in a poor manner
During our short stay we had a huge ceiling leakage in two of the bedrooms including the master + bathroom, that lasted for an hour and had dirty water falling onto people's clothes and the mattress, as well as the outlets–huge hazard. Everything was fine and we requested either some form of compensation/refund or at least some way to accommodate the people in those rooms with other bedding options–air mattresses or roll beds. The moment the property manager got on the scene 2 hours after the incident–he was extremely combative and offered no helpful solutions aside from a free late check-out (we were all flying out the next day) or we uproot a group of 16 all at once on the evening of our last night. As far as they were concerned, once they stopped the leakage and changed the sheets, their job was done. Never mind the fact the a few people didn't feel 100% safe with the amount of water that got on the electrical outlets. In the end, they ended sleeping on the couches. He kept going back on options he had offered (moving out and finding another place to stay) and honestly, made us feel like we didn't have a choice. When I spoke with one of the managers on the phone afterwards to see if any compensation could be provided (considering 6 out of 16 in our group ended up sleeping on couches our last night because of the situation), he offhandedly mentioned he was on the board of Homeaway and implied that I was being "difficult". He then mentioned that difficult customers in the past have gotten kicked off the platform. I hadn't even left a review yet, but it sounded like a warning–which I *did not* appreciate. My 15 friends are witness to the fact that I was never once aggressive or combative in the entire conversation. I stood up for our group because management was talking down to us despite the difficulty we went through for those two hours. In the end, we were compensated for less than the amount they would have charged for a 2-hr late check out, but only after hours of stressful back-and-forths with their team. TLDR: They didn't want to accommodate or compensate for the 7 people whose bedrooms were affected by a 1-hr ceiling leakage and they implied that if I was going to be "difficult"–I could be blocked on the platform cause the manager is on the board for Homeaway. Super unethical.

Due to the quality of our products there was zero water damage to any mattresses, bedding, and furniture. There was also no electrical or structural damage as our team reacted promptly and efficiently to repair the leak. Our exemplary housekeeping team replaced all bedding, cleaned floors, walls and restored the unit to rent ready condition. Our team apologized for the inconvenience and presented alternative accommodations, complimentary extended stay in addition to a partial refund. ~ The Team at Beachfront Only

Absolutely stunning
This rental is unbelievable, it is like walking into paradise. There was plenty of space for our entire party and the views were unreal. The space was clean and the beds were very comfortable (the bunk bed was the exception). The only issue we had was with the hot water and they fixed it pretty quickly (a more clear way to contact the property manager would be appreciated in the future). Highly recommend this property!

Perfect Location
Great spot for a large family gathering. It sleeps 14, however that includes 3 on a pull-out couch or built in cushion/mattress in the living room....perfect for 12 but not overly crowded for 14. House sits on a cliff overlooking the coastline. Easy access to a path down to the beach. Only parking for 2 smaller vehicles however we never had issues finding parking on the street very close or right in front of the house, and we were there during peak season.

Multi-generational vacation
The property couldn’t have been in a better location. Everything you could possibly need was stocked. We had one questions regarding how to turn on back porch lights which was answered immediately. The grandkids had the best time ever playing on the putting green. Our grown children said it was one of the best vacations ever.
