Very large room with a kitchen and everything you need to cook with. Also like the breakfast which has eggs, sausage, waffles, and other things.

Loved the bed, the view, cleanliness of the room, location of hotel. Not a fan of the gal that checked us in, nor the lack of parking, also parking was awkward due limited space and the directional flow/layout of the parking lot.

Our room had an ocean view, which we requested and appreciated. (The first room assigned to us overlooked the defunct conference center and had an ugly view, so the front desk happily move us to the 3rd floor.). Our room was spotless! Roomy and very clean. No carpeting, so it wasn't super cozy, but definitely clean. This is an older property and it seemed that hardly anyone stayed there. We noticed some guests stuffing their pockets with the breakfast buffet food as they left the café. It was awkward because we were concerned about their food security. Were they living there? They almost seemed homeless. We were hoping that this facility had more of a mid-century vibe, but it was quite stark and unremarkable. We did enjoy the easy walk to the beach and a nearby stellar coffee shop. We will choose a venue with more character next time we visit Encinitas.

The property is older and needs some love. Paint is chipping, wood is falling apart in some places. We did enjoy complimentary breakfast and the staff was nice. The balconies are spacious but bare with only two old chairs. We ended up walking to nearby restaurants and that was nice also.

our room was nice with a balcony and ocean view, however the property in general is in need of updating, it seems a bit rundown. also, the breakfast was ho-hum -- not available before 7:30, with lackluster offerings.

We were visiting from Australia and stayed twice recently at the Encinitan Hotel while visiting our son, who is living nearby. The hotel is a big, solid, older style hotel - lots of concrete. We booked an Ocean View room both times and we enjoyed the large balcony - particularly watching the sunset. The room was more spacious than average. I liked that the vanity area with sink was seperate to the shower and toilet. Wardrobe and drawers were large. Whilst the bathrooms were a bit tired, the beds were very comfortable. Good parking facilities. Friendly staff. Laundry facilities are great - only quirk was that they require quarters and the hotel won’t give you change!? You can get change at the garage across the road. There’s also a supermarket there and numerous eateries. This is a comfortable place to stay - not luxurious but we felt the positives outweighed the negatives.

This property is in the perfect location if you want to be close to the town of Encinitas to enjoy the shops and restaurants and beach access! The rooms are nice and large. We had one with the kitchenette and it was perfect. We will definitely come back in the future the staff were very friendly and accommodating. 👌👍

Staff was rude, unhelpful and found sleeping employee at the front desk multiple nights. No drinking water available in room, lobby or for purchase. Vending machines not operable and no alternatives offered.

Checking in was extremely easy. The stay is clean and easy to navigate. It is quiet after the last train passes. Just be prepared for the train to wake you up. Besides that, when the weather permits our room had a direct view of the ocean. The sunset was beautiful and the environment is extremely relaxing. There are many options nearby for dining experiences or to simply go to the grocery stores.

Our overall experience was good, friendly staff, continental breakfast was decent and with variety. We will probaby get a parking view next time. We had ocean view not anticipating the train runs nearby and you can hear it (not loud though). Good value for your money.

The staff were very friendly. But the property/rooms do need attention. The room had a muggy smell, we had to open the balcony door to air out the room. Unfortunately the experience didn’t get better, when I laid down to go to sleep, to my shock there were bandaids on the outside of the night stand so when I rolled over I was staring right at them. I mentioned it to the desk clerk and he apologized, said he would let the housekeeping manager know but there was nothing compensated for it. I had to scrape them off with a coffee straw and thankfully I had some Lysol wipes handy. I also mentioned there was some hair on the bathroom floor when we arrived plus the sink wasn’t properly cleaned either. I was so grossed out that I didnt dare go for the included breakfast. I just felt super uncomfortable in the room.
